I watched this earlier and recommend it whatever your party political persuasion. Joe Rogan does some great long interviews. Watch the first 10 minutes at least. I'd urge Jim to watch too and see how normal people rationalise things and discuss them. Andrew Doyle is a comedian who runs a spoof woke twitter account Titania McGrath. It was funnier when people didn't know it was a piss take due to the real thing being so ridiculous. Some people still don't realise it's a spoof. On form here...

Fair enough, stick to objective truth, which I do, though some find their views challenged by it and get upset.

Fair enough, stick to objective truth, which I do, though some find their views challenged by it and get upset. Your objective truth as far as I can tell is to repeat ad infinitum that politicians lie. We know that Jimbo. No, what you do is type repeated sound bite slogans to which you attach insults to anyone who couldn't bare to vote for a crippled Labour Party. The insulting is the clear purpose of your posts which contain nothing else of note. Your predictable insults are either/and accusations of inferior intellect, inferior education, thug style rascism, degenerative brain diseases or dribbling mindless worship for the Tory Party and 100% hypnotic belief in everything they say. If you think that's reasonable political discourse perhaps the new Woke Labour Party is actually where you belong. Watch the video - the labour party barely get a mention, the subject is cross party political, it's a serious matter.

If you hate the Labour Party: don't claim social benefits, don't live in a council house, don't make us of the NHS. These are things the Labour Party has given us. The Conservatives only look after themselves (ie. the rich). thats scatter gun generalisation...

Its funny that your description '...dribbling mindless worship for the Tory Party and 100% hypnotic belief in everything they say...' nicely describes another TB participant but it sure isn't Jim. On this forum it is only possible to express a political opinion so long as it agrees with the majority (unless you don't mind abuse). There's a word for that sort of thing. Personally I have no motivation to vote for anyone since there is currently no-one worth voting for.* Of course that means I have no political opinion or any right to express an opinion. Obviously. There is one thing I do believe in - the need for co-operation and mutual support. The species, not the planet, is properly screwed unless we can somehow pull that rabbit from the hat which seems about as likely as Dianne Abbot admitting she may have been wrong on a few minor points. * Although I do concede that Boris was and is the best choice to move the country out of deadlock. It doesn't make the shit-sandwich taste any better though.

Why do people KEEP saying that it's impossible to express political opinions on thunderboat that differ from the majority view, just before they express political opinion that differ from the majority view !
It's not very bright.
And frankly, I would suggest that the majority view is that political discussion is dull and pointless.

I can see as someone quoted him that Fox has decided unilaterally and without a sniff of evidence that I hate the Labour party, then slapped me for this imagined foolishness. Straw man anyone? This is why I blocked the twat, he doesn't read anyone's posts, just picks a word and makes up a load of crap. For the record, if Labour hadn't snivellingly aligned themselves with woke I might vote for them, but in doing so they are willing on a dangerous headlong dive towards a police state with thought police where free speech is banned.

I sometimes have to respect Jim for sticking to his guns. What can he possibly get out of it? Yeah, the majority view is that political discussion is dull and pointless which is why there is so much of it. Doh.

There is NO political discussion on thunderboat.
Occasionally someone mentions politics and everyone insults each other.
That is not and never has been political discussion.
If you care to look the 'exchange of insults' tend to be restricted to the odd thread as the majority don't give a damn.

Its true that mostly its about trying to come up with the most stinging ridicule of the other side's policies. But then again theories of the surplus of labour compared with the merits of a society divided on the basis of class and privilege are rarely discussed in the House of Commons either. Even in the Oxford Union (of which I am a member) the proceedings usually slipped into 'the throwing of the bread roll' as the evening became increasingly lubricated...
Here on TB a member's political allegiances are sometimes stated. If that turns out to be Tory the post gets a few 'likes'; if not then its usually when the shit hits the fan. Sophisticated innit.

He has mentioned that I engage in 'virtual signalling' As I havn't a scoobies what that means nor do I care... I'll carry on regardless The term is 'scooby' as in 'scooby-doo' (rhymes with) clue. Thus 'I haven't a Scooby' is correct although common usage includes 'scoobied'. I also like 'scarper' as in Scapa Flow - go.

But you obviously wandered in here last year, and decided to stay.
Everyone is free to speak here, which is why it is infinitely better than CWDF and why I defend this forum, and occasionally become irritated when some ex CWDF members turn up and use their newly found freedom just to be disruptive.
Sadly some merely like to be antagonistic and provocative, knowing others will bite ... and these rolls can be reversed on occasion.
But I am sure you'll agree this is NOT political discussion.
There are many more threads which avoid such nonsense, and I'm sure you'll be unsurprised to learn, they're my fav's.
