I am banned from both the Facebook London Boaters Group and the Canal World Discussion Forum. So I must be doing something right.

I wonder if Dave has the correct paperwork? "don't mention it on LB". Probably not. Go on naughtyfox, report him.

HMRC would really do him over though. ย Do you think I should sign up to London Boaters Facebook and question everyone about their licence, and if they have a commercial licence, and let them know that as a HMRC employee I shall be walking down the towpath next Wednesday morning at 5am? Go on then, it won't be long before they chuck you out. No dissent allowed. Now, where does that remind me of? ๐๐๐๐

It's a basic requirement of the London Boaters Facebook group that members have to be economically illiterate Woke Corbynistas incapable of understanding any other view other than their own self-obsessed lefty Groupthink.

Wouldn't do for us all to be the same naughtyfox When we have a specific query ... is there suitable mooring near the shops ... can you access railway etc ... we do look it up these days. Of course it wasn't possible for us to do so initially as we didn't have a lap top and internet until 2008 ... so our first few years were based on exploration coupled with Pearson's and Nicholson's guides and spontaneity. We certainly wouldn't wish to 'plot' to the extent you have previously described. Rog

I hate having boating trips plotted in detail, yes sea and tidal passage plans have to be worked out and observed or you could end up in trouble but on the canals ?
No, spontaneity is the name of the game. I like to be surprised by the places I discover.

I think the same JohnV ... and to be honest that's one of the reasons I prefer canals ... because you can just wander. Good to have a chat with naughtyfox too don't you think ? Rog

Top of the posts today, from Carly. Why do we have to move? We haven't had to move, and everyone has picked a spot/area they love, and it turns out we didn't all pick the same spot. There is space, people aren't being selfish, everything is good. So, what is the reasoning of us moving every 14 days and being on a "journey"?!..
