That's all very well but you have to be a member with a pre existing loan or savings account for 3 months before qualifying and it'll probably be withdrawn before that's up. OK goalposts have moved, I have my savings with them at 1.7% taken out in December, never been near them before that. I need to move mine for sure so I do look about. There's nothing useful doing really, they'll be charging to keep your savings before you know it.

Can you print that on a badge for me? I would have thought a few people would already have given you a badge like that

I needed to move some instant access isa money as it dropped to 0.02% best I could find quickly with access was 0.8% at Nationwide.

For what you can get in conventional accounts, its probably worth putting it in Premium bonds. The prize fundrepresents1.4%, but hey punk? Do you feel lucky? If you win, you're up, if you don't, then you've missed out on 0.8%. Withdrawal is instant.

Instant access account, done over the internet.

I just won Β£150 on premium bonds so Iβm a happy bunny! The trouble with PBs is the average payout % they quote doesn't mesh with reality, they are wildly exaggerated. There are plenty of studies on the internet to confirm this.

There are plenty of studies on the internet to confirm this. You've never met my sister ....... we were both given the same amount of premium bonds by our mother. We both have kept them and over the years my sister has won more than me (in small or smallish wins) by a factor of at least ten. (I never kept count over the years but I suspect it could be quite a bit more) It is a standing family joke that if I bet on a horse it will drop dead from a heart attack in the starting gate.

it appears that the majority here have more money than me ... here you are talking about " percentage returns" whilst Capt Ellis here juggles divorce and covid enforced debts ... please send funds to mark@narrowboatellis.com No donation too large Edit to add - I'm HALF joking... ;-) Edited (again) to add so as not to offend anyone - THE above is intended as humor.

That hopeless return is my total income. Β£5-10/week if I'm lucky.

You and I could be out delivering pizza, but, well...I can't speak for you, but I'd rather be skint.
