We are pleased to tell you we that YOU we have rescued Virgin Atlantic.
The Government will be moving to a small island for the duration of the crisis as we have had enough experience of getting infected. We will keep in touch with you and the opposition parties via the new partnership between Huawai/O2/Virgin (our thanks to the PRC who have fully funded the deal).

Which I think must include some back to school to enable it.

Yes, before too many people work out they have been set up.

I hope nothing before the end of this period of lockdown in 2.5 weeks time. Mind you with this bunch of incompetents running the show anything is possible.

Yes, before too many people work out they have been set up. I read today that the average age of coronavirus death victims is actually higher than the average age of death from all causes in the UK. Go figure.

Whether one takes them at face value or the opposite or somewhere in between - here we are and barring a revolution the present situation will evolve from where it is, governed by the government. The only useful tools appear to be doshing out our own money and branding anyone who won't cooperate as an enemy of the NHS and all right thinking citizens.
My thoughts are that driven by the desire to stop haemorrhaging money, they must manoeuvre eventually into a position where everyone can technically work within whatever is the current guidance = no more "compensation".
And a few cost free bones for those you don't work are inevitable under the same new guidelines and attractive in saving police overtime costs.
I think this time everything will revolve around "wearing a mask makes a, b and c ok" i.e. a change mainly for convenience sake. Then everyone can be side tracked into arguing about which masks are ok, which aren't, why there aren't enough, who should have priority and that it's all Chinas fault anyway.
Follow the money.
The guilt trip bit will be used to coerce people into installing their app, which for all the bluster will not be private and will work so seldom it's not in my view justifiable.

It would seem strange to force people to wear face masks when they haven't over the last 6 weeks high risk phase. There is also little evidence of their effectiveness. I'm sure I read somewhere that they were going to waive the 2m rule in offices. They also gave the green light to continue on HS2 development 3 weeks ago. So yes, follow the money.

I reckon little will change, a bit of relaxation, a request that should be an order to wear face coverings. The evidence is that it lessens the spread of virus from those who are infected. It should have been mandatory earlier, too little, too late.

Well after all the idiots that went out n about today plus the street parties yesterday I hope they'll not relax too much as we may see a spike again anyway.
