So I did a check and apparently Australia is a country and a continent (of which Oceania is a part.) but is sometimes referred to as "an island continent" so a very trick question but it seems you and I are right Andrew ........ according to t'internet www.infoplease.com/world/world-geography/large-islands-world

Johnny's mother has three children. The first one is called April, the second one is called May. What is the third one called? You are in a running race and you overtake the person who is in fourth place. What place are you in now? A deaf and dumb man wants to buy a toothbrush. He goes into the shop, and makes a gesture of brushing his teeth. The sales assistant immediately understands that he wants to buy a toothbrush, and sells him one. Next, a blind man goes into the shop and wants to buy a pair of sunglasses. How does he let the sales assistant know this? 1. Ahmed 2. 4th (he who was in 4th is now 5th) 3. By asking So Close. How is your back this morning?

April, May and Juhne. Juhne is an unusual name for a boy so he calls himself Johnny instead.

So Close. How is your back this morning? Thanks for asking Better. I drove our car to my workplace, and home, and could climb the steps into the bus. Was there about 2 hours with another driver. Both buses started straight away, but then I heard one mechanic was on his way to give another bus to me, apparently because it has a few more seats so that the kids are more separate. The mechanic said he'd forward an e-mail to me, instructions from the government and the company's own, but he said he thought it's a load of nonsense anyway when the virus hasn't come to our area at all. You see - on the one hand everything seems to be so exaggerated, a fuss about nothing, but then it's pointed out that thousands have died in Italy, Spain and the UK and USA, but then we don't really know if they have died from Covid-19 or would have just died anyway. Despite having followed this for the past 3 months I still don't know what to make of it. And you can't say it's 'not serious' because, virus or not, there have been huge changes such as 320 buses for this company alone being off the road and just sleeping in their garages, and drivers unemployed for 8 weeks of today and not getting their normal salaries. We have been lucky in that it has been more like a holiday here. My income has dropped by around 50-60% (if you include holidays, etc.) but then we haven't been out and about spending money. Apart from a few shop visits, we have been in self-quarantine more or less. Covid-19 has seen our trip to Japan cancelled, and our Summer plane tickets to England cancelled. Also I couldn't nip over at Easter by myself to sort out the battery cables. Our boat is going into dry dock for minor welding work in June and it looks like we'll have to supervise from afar. No idea yet what we'll be doing when Summer holidays start 30th May. (Third child's name - I just guessed it could have been anything) I just know you know the third child’s name. Glad your backs improving. Ali and me are sat on our boat right now, alls well aboard. Just needs a good clean. We will be taking boat out tomorrow and mooring up and doing some washing and polishing. Feel ridiculously excited that we can cruise again.

Probably just that. Coincidence. It's not like Italy and Spain were about to leave the EU as well. They were perfectly ok with healthy economies... If Italy and Spain were examples of healthy economies, then I can't see that we'll be in any trouble. Yes I was being slightly facetious as usual. One of the only two words in the English language with all the vowels in the right order. The other being abstemious. I practice the former but not the latter.

This brings up the obvious question of what an island is.
I always thought an island was a land mass surrounded by water but that is not actually the correct definition.
If it was then America would be an island.
But it is not.

An island is a small piece of land surrounded by water. One grey area is Australia, which can be considered small enough to be an island or large enough to be a continent on its own.
North America - a continent - is not an island since it is attached to South America (and vice versa). Likewise, Europe and Asia are attached creating Eurasia. All the connected components are surrounded by water on all sides.
Africa is too large to be considered an island.
