On a totally different note-just been drinking a very pleasant Aussie red called 'Jam Shed'.Only thing is,I keep reading the label as 'Jim Shead'. I NEED to go boating again before I go totally sea lion.🤪

Only problem I have is I feel a little guilty, should I be out having fun whilst others can’t? Should I really be home in lockdown?

Just wasted my lunch break looking into the shocking news that Australia is not an island.
I found this.
According to Britannica, an island is a mass of land that is both “entirely surrounded by water” and also “smaller than a continent.” By that definition, Australiacan't be an island because it's already a continent.
But I always thought the country of Australia is a different thing to the continent of Australia because the continent includes Australia and a few other islands and is not exclusively just Australia.

I read somewhere the continent includes a bunch of islands which collectively are referred to as Australasia, thus defining Australia by consequence as an island. But maybe I'm going cross-eyed. I'm definitely past caring. I expect this is the sort of thing that gets all the geologists calling the geographer's mothers rude names at conventions (after sometime around half-past-ten). If only the original question had said 'Before the discovery of Australia, which island was considered to be the largest'? FFS.

At 8:30pm yesterday evening our car park had gained about 20 cars and almost full. Can't believe all (any) of those folk went home later. I'll see shortly.

I thought they could stay out all night (we all can now) but the existing rules re second homes/holiday homes still applies. That's what the announcement I have says - I'd post it but cannot work out how to post an image to this forum.

The consensus is wild camping is still of the table. Ironically being mostly illegal anyway.

What I meant (very tongue in cheek) was if you can fish overnight, then fishing off your boat means you can stop on it overnight. Obtuse interpretation on this and every other forum seems to be the default. Common sense seems to be not very common.

Last week I did a 240 mile round trip helping a mate out shifting some stuff. We went in his Transit-type van. The funny thing was we thought we'd be smart and take the A-roads and not the main drag. There was lots of traffic. There were quite a few cop cars. We did not see anyone get pulled. On the way back we were much braver and cared a lot less, and so got on the motorway. Much less traffic! It seems everybody thought they were being smart.
We passed through one of the most heavily monitored spots in the country (Dartford Crossing). Anyone with eyes could see there were two people in the van. Nothing happened. Draw your own conclusions.
