At the end of the local news they always seem to have some irreverent nonsense story to finish on, after the serious stuff.
I'm aware that some are losing family and friends at present, and mean no disrespect, but wondered what, if any personal 'good news' story you can tell as a consequence of the restrictions.
A year ago I was told I would have to have a knee replacement, and was struggling with mobility (I know, my fault for all those years jogging) and I was genuinely concerned we may have to sell the boat.
But now, as a result of the restrictions, we've been walking daily for upto 4 hours ... discovered a whole new network of footpaths and lanes around Nantwich, and met loads of locals who now greet us like friends and residents.
Any good news stories ?
Rog

I did notice today whilst chugging on my "essential journey" HOW many people were pleased to see a boat moving... smiles and waves from inside the houses I was nosing in...
a towpath full of people exercising and shouting "hello's" ... all very friendly and pleased to see a boat moving for a change...
all 16 swing bridges wiped down with wipes as we passed through of course.

It is entirely possible to see the positive even whilst in a house. We can choose to focus on the 'bad' we're all encountering ... or try to brighten things a bit. I choose the latter Rog

I choose the latter Rog So many haven't been allowed to make that choice - you're extremely lucky not to be locked down in your house. It must be quite hurtful to so many of those people who can't go to their boats when you rub it in. Just sayin'

I just wake up in the morning and there it is, a natural and luxuriant mop of boyish chestnut hair. I can see why you are so bent out of shape about this, Grandpa.
