'So what' was really the point of my post ... 'our elected politicians aren't very good' shock ... 'opposition party supporters think government aren't up to the job' disclosure ... not really that gripping a story is it ? Rog You could possibly have a point IF it was "opposition party supporters" taking Boris to task for being a useless wassock, but it isn't. Are you suggesting we should all play the ostrich and let them just get on with it? You didn't comment on whether the Tboat Junta would or should have kept quiet if Labour had won btw. Anyway, hand made cream tea and speciality beer just been hand delivered to my door, got a face to fill!

So any woman who puts forth her views in a forthright manner is Gobby? Maybe that says more about you than them? Not at all. Theresa May wasn't gobby, neither was Margaret Thatcher. Labour probably needs a woman leader for no other reason than to compete with the Tories in the 'equality stakes', but those two weren't the right candidates. At a guess you mostly agreed with Tess and Mags? Only if they disagree with you...

By the next election, I hope that Labour will have cast out Momentum, developed policies in line with the wishes and aspirations of their tradional support, and have become a force for its people . I hope. But the signs aren't great thus far. Rog

Jim, you are what I and most people on here would describe as a political extremist. You don't see it of course, extremists never do. On the other side would be the right wing extremists you so love to rant at... only there aren't any here sunshine, just the middle of the road gang who have to put up with extremist twats like you distracting any chance of real political discussion with your pathetic party obsessed winging - some lean slightly right, some slightly left but the majority of voters would kick both ends of party politics off the boat altogether given the chance.
It would be funny... if only extremists didn't drive so much (all?) political debate, but they do, destroying in the process any hope of intelligent discourse. You should be as ashamed of yourself for being such a willing tool.

At a guess you mostly agreed with Tess and Mags? Only if they disagree with you... I'm a Libertarian rather than a Tory. Small government, light regulation but remaining laws properly enforced. Humanity through family, community and charity, rather than a nanny state. Families and friends, communities and charities can provide love, the greatest human need, whereas a nanny state provides cold and cruel entitlement.

Jim has apparently forgotten that Betty Boothroyde was Labour as was Joan Ruddock
I wouldn't have called either particularly "gobby" but both were very much old school Labour

You have forgotten Barbara Castle too. It's not me that has a problem here though.
