I was wondering about this.
Obviously as I work with MI6 I am subjected to unusual behaviour patterns so the "lock down" has not had much of an impact in that I still get to go to the Psyops boat at weekends for Professional Development training.
It got me wondering if boating will become more popular in future or if there will be a decline in numbers of boat owners and if so what happens to the boats.
Inland.

As Coronavirus mainly affects coffin-dodgers I predict a large number of boats with the distinctive odour of dead person coming onto the market once the brokerages re-open although as a younger person myself I anticipate no change to my own cruising pattern.

I was going to call you a coffin dodger but as you live in a good representation of a coffin I thought better of it.

Yes, I too was thinking that it has to be a buyer's market now, surely there must be lots of boats coming up for sale with the owners wiped out by the Wuhan Flu. Houses too. Cars too. Vultures, circle round! I'm just saying, I find it all somewhat distasteful, but what I find most distasteful is that no-one dares to have a moan at China (where, of course, as they state, the virus did not originate!) who are flexing their military might and now thinking of invading Taiwan. China is too far away for people in UK to worry about. Ok so they might have long range ICBMs with new killer war heads on them but at the end of the day the real risk is the Germans, the Russians and the Americans. Obviously as you are on that very very cold bit is the Russians bit here in good old blighty the 'merkins are a serious risk and so are the gerries. Chinese might be an economic problem but we will never see the whites of their eyes.

A few thousand is a drop in the ocean.
What we really worry about here is when the clever people go away.
That's bad news.

There aren't any telephones in China.

Probate properties once inhabited by single men usually stink of Piss. Hence our term for probate houses, Pissy House.

Still could be worse.... number 2's all over!!!

There aren't any telephones in China. As nobody else has bothered to answer and give you the chance to tell your joke... Why are there no telephones in china Stabby?

Same with repossession property, they trash the place out of spite, they lose, value can drop below what they owe. The cleaning job with those often involves clearing up compost in the attic, having " a grow" to try to make ends meet.

My mother's god mother left her the "chattels" in her Will. Some nice furniture. I was about 15 and helped clear the stuff from the house.
Chain smoking old lady. It was really bad in there everything covered in tar. Quite shocking actually more so that she lived to over 90.
I can still remember the awful smell in fact it was enough to make me give up smoking when I moved into a boat a few years later.
If I could get the same experience with a drunk's house it might put me off the beer.
That would be handy actually !!

The first renter we bought was like that, yellow walls, brown nicotine drip streaks on the windows, used to see that on old pubs.

I bought a van like that, you could scrape the tar of the inside of the windows and the headlining was brown. I think someone must have lived in it chain smoking cigars. I had to use 2 pac thinners to get the windows clean.
