"I wouldn’t recommend PIA" A Khan (United Kingdom) 14th March 2020 ✅ Trip Verified | Flew executive economy from London to Karachi and Islamabad to London. State of the aircraft is pathetic, old and decrepit. Seats are broken and no IFE available so it’s a horribly long flight with nothing to do. On the way to Karachi cabin crew were average and the food was absolutely horrible.
Gotta laugh at the name. 'A Khan'. One of many!

"JUST HOW BAD ARE PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES? I always seem to hear horror stories from people who have flown with PIA. From delays of up to 48 hours, to rude and inconsiderate cabin crew, to incompetent ground staff and the loss of luggage, and from drug smuggling to fatal crashes, it seems that this awful reputation of PIA is wholly deserved. It is reported that many of PIA’s aircraft are poorly maintained and even when they are damaged in small collisions, there is an element of neglect in that executives do not want to waste money by taking the planes out of service to repair. The aircraft then continue in service and the passengers on board have no idea of its shabby state. In December, 2016, Pakistan International Airlines Flight 661 suffered an engine failure 13,000ft and crashed uncontrollably in hillside north of Islamabad. All passengers on board perished in the crash and their bodies were burned to smithereens. On a flight to Saudi Arabia in January, 2017, there was a serious case of overfilling on a PIA flight. Unbelievably, ground staff at Karachi International Airport wrote out hand-written boarding passes to a number of passengers who otherwise would not have fitted onto the flight. All the seats were taken, so these extra passengers were standing in the aisle of the aircraft for the duration of the flight (as seen in the screen grab above). This is clearly one of the most serious safety breaches you can find in aviation."

"as a Pakistani I would really like to thank you for your analysis on this incident. I hope your videos will expose the truth to more people in Pakistan who have always been lied to and deprived of truth in previous incidents."

Yes that was after they’d flown down the runway at zero feet scraping the engine and were climbing away again. Looks like they took out the auxiliary gearbox which drives oil pump, alternators etc, on both engines.

Just be honest I went to the estate agent to put my house on the market he said it's worth a hundred grand. I said "why is Mohammed's house worth a hundred and twenty? It's exactly the same as mine." He said "because Mohammed hasn't got a fucking paki living next door!" (Bernard Manning)

I’m flying now if anyone is interested G-CFWW or just FWW. Climbing through 7000’ I had a look. Looks like you started to climb and switched it on, then turned it off when you started to descend. Maybe you are out of Rx range now, fingers crossed for a nice bit of wave for you....

Maybe you are out of Rx range now, fingers crossed for a nice bit of wave for you.... It depends what data source you were looking at. Flightradar24 takes a feed from the OGN FLARM network so any glider with FLARM (which is most, these days) shows up. However that data isn’t archived, so you can’t “rewind time” if you have Flightradar24 premium. Flightradar24 of course also takes a feed from Mode S transponders, a few gliders including mine has that. You should have been able to see the FLARM a data throughout the flight, except when I was behind the mountains. I turned the transponder on roughly when I posted the message (around 6000’) and turned it off again shortly before landing. The transponder coverage (in terms of ground receivers ) isn’t good round our way so probably I wouldn’t be detected below 5000’, but we have a FLARM receiver on the airfield so that should work most of the time, except when we’re low behind the mountains. I suspect you were only looking at the Mode S (called M-Lat in FR24) and maybe you need to tick the box to enable FLARM data on the app. Yes, nice flight thanks, just 8000’ but very clear, no clouds at all. Makes the cairngorm mass look quite small! And pleasantly cool!

I’m not entirely sure that you understand - I was talking about Flightradar24. Within FlightRadar24 you can allow or exclude various data sources, including M-Lat and FLARM.

Just re-read this post this morning, I think I was too wrapped up in jealously to take it in after a few Jamesons yesterday. I was using the new Flightradar24 app on my Android phone. I can't see anywhere where you can select different data sources. Is that something you can do with the desktop version? I do have the Gold subscription BTW.
