The NHS was never going to get anywhere near being "overwhelmed".
It's an infectious disease outbreak. Nothing new under the sun.
Lovely excuse for a bit of experimenting with the plebs but collapse of systems? Simple answer is NO.

You screamed for a lockdown, primarily because Boris Johnson preferred herd immunity. Did you not realise that this would be the death knell for the Skylight Circus? However, at the end of the day I'd rather the NHS didn't get overwhelmed, or lots of elderly and many younger people die a sad lonely premature death.

Our Jim's politics are twatish in the extreme but can't help thinking that I'd like him if I met him. He's from the right side of the Pennines, that's not a bad start

No. Fuck the Skylight Circus, you were among the most vociferous of clowns calling for a lockdown and the economy to be trashed. What did you expect? Folk will be too busy worrying where their next meal is coming from to spend money on your clownwittery. The Skylight Circus is over. Get your head around it. Go and get a proper job. Cheer up for fucks sake!

It was potentially on the cards, now, thanks to the generosity of others we have got 32.5k from various sources that will get us through. However, at the end of the day I'd rather the NHS didn't get overwhelmed, or lots of elderly and many younger people die a sad lonely premature death. Perhaps you should be careful what you wish for, for others. I don't mind the random shit if you go and nominate us on the linkπ¦π€‘

Jim, you can put those concrete socks back on the shelf for now.
I don't know how effective your charity is but it is obvious that you believe in it and it's benefits.
Although I consider your politics to be wacky in the extreme, I do respect your sincerity and also believe in your honesty.
Good luck

Good luck Thanks JohnV, that's me off to Mustique as soon as the flights start. Or perhaps I'll buy a yot and sail it there. π

Go and get a proper job. π A well deserved Twat for you sir. This isn't about me, it's about doing things for others and other people's jobs. A lot of my time is spent doing stuff to keep other people in work in the future. π€‘ Well look, let me expand on my position a bit. I'm sorry if the Skylight Circus has to close, but you were one of the most vociferous in calling for the lockdown (and rather bizarrely it seems that every other eu supporter held the same position whereas Brexit supporters almost unanimously opposed the lockdown) and you obviously didn't think "Hey, if the economy comes to a grinding halt then this will mean the end for the Skylight Circus. None of the performers will be able to meet up to rehearse, none of the spectators will be able to spectate, the huge drop in tax revenues will mean our funding will stop and we will have to disband". So if that wasn't all blindingly, glaringly, totally obvious to you then you'll forgive me if I say that as far as I'm concerned "sympathy" is just a word in the dictionary, somewhere between "shit" and "syphilis". You are not the only one suffering from the lockdown.

You are not the only one suffering from the lockdown. Before S comes K, Kindess, never goes amiss. I'm not suffering, just pootling along, getting on with life, albeit changed. I am realistic about Skylight's survival, come through several storms over 30 years, down to business acumen acquired along the way. It would go down if we didn't put up a fight. It still might but not yet, we'll give it a good shot. As for the lockdown, if it had started sooner it would have finished earlier. Don't fool yourself that your or my views are of any great import, sorry if the whole world isn't listening to you, out of step with reality. Stop whining, suck it up and get on with it.

No, had lockdown started one week longer then that's one more week Skylight Circus would have been up Shit Creek without a paddle. You just don't get it, do you?

I know I'd enjoy watching a performance. Nomination completed and I'm sure any Lottery cash you get your hands on will be well spent.
