My own view is that nurses are not underpaid, in the scheme of things. £25K salary rising to £30K, generous holiday allowance, full sick pay and a gold plated pension. Many care workers are paid minimum wage, minimum holidays, minimum sick pay and do not receive a final salary pension.
Care workers are more deserving of a pay increase than nurses, in my opinion.

Oh dear, I didn't realise that. In that case I'm afraid care workers, despite being key, and just as heroic as NHS workers, will have to endure minimum wage in perpetuity, as it would clearly be racist to try to encourage Indian business owners to pay higher wages.

Seek and ye shall find. here's one: "Perhaps you shouldn't have extended the furlough payouts then?! Way too many people out there enjoying a nice long holiday and not paying mortgages, credit cards etc-which I believe is also to be extended. If they can all visit a beach and laze around all day with masses of strangers everywhere-and they seem to be disregarding the distancing rules-then they should be told to go back to work. I'm fed up doing my bit, working everyday as a keyworker and seeing these idiots on the news about to put us all back to square one!' Boris please rethink your "travel where you like" policy." Source please... HP?
