We bought a pack of cans of cranberry 'long drink' (gin in it) and a pack of 5.5% Aura beer (again, small cans) last night in supermarket. Today we stumbled across an Alko store and the Witch bought a bag of wine (yeeurrghh) and I fancied something stronger for when we get back and bought a small bottle of brandy for a change of scenery. For proper whisky you gotta go to Aberdeenshire. Driving & hiking day today so no alcohol until we get back... but next to Kiutaköngäs. It's a waterfall. Just completed the 'Little Bear Circuit'. Perfect weather, evening sun and gentle breeze.
We have 2 bottles of meths in the car but those are for the Trangia.

I would LIKE to drink every day... my fat belly tells me I shouldn't .
WHEN I have guests on , I tend to drink along with their habits... when on my own, it's very other day... but I have been known to binge. I Drink more in company though be it guests or towpath boaty friends.
I'd like NOT to drink at all but I enjoy it.

Completely tea total*
* I'm assuming as long as I dangle a tea bag in the drink for a few seconds this is ok.

It can happen occasionally on a Saturday as that is one of the days I can go on the floating electric beer drinking platform which promotes consumption by definition.
Obviously I would not seek to be in charge of a large heavy vessel whilst under the cosh but a small canoe-like unit will usually avoid damaging other people's boats.

Its funny, most people would define the expression 'under the cosh' as being under pressure from work, not getting pissed...

As someone who has never done a day's work I can't comment on that. And I am not a night Watchman.
However the expression is appropriate because I did not set out to be a beer drinking waster it just happened due to events.

I read somewhere that if you stop drinking for a few months your liver rejuvenates, not sure how true that it though. Yes this is true up to (but not including) cirrhosis. The liver is an amazing organ. Sometimes one liver will be cut in two and given to two different transplant patients. Wow.

Humans have some quite impressive features. It's just a shame about the brains. If it were not for the brains I'm sure life would be easier for the majority of humans.

I've gone months without drink due to medical reasons.. Then I restarted and discovered I could drink some wine but not daily The gin workshop was a seriously bad idea for someone who'd never really touched the stuff before hand and I had to stop all alcohol again. I'd like to be teetotaller but like so many others i do enjoy glass wine. ATM I try to stay off vino most days and share bottle with daughter at the end of the week sitting social distancing in the garden. That said..last night consumed a whole bottle.....sigh....

Well today is the last day of my abstinence. Whether I'll start drinking again tomorrow I've not decided.
Good things - Saved around £30-40. Still alive but did take a small amount of aspirin twice as a precaution when I felt a bit heady. Didn't talk bollocks so much according to Chris (John might disagree). Portapotty lasted longer without needing emptying. Felt less apathetic. Even did a 9 mile walk. Didn't get the usual depressive feelings I usually get the day after drinking.
Bad things - Not as much fun as having a drinking day. A bit boring being on a flat line.
I also spent less time on TB. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing.

With a list like that I wouldn't touch another drop. "Not so much fun"? I think you're deluding yourself there because you're an alcoholic in denial.

A bit boring being on a flat line. Get a bicycle and make some trips?
