SO they just posted this
The Canal & River Trust has arranged a special ‘window’ of three days for boaters wishing to move their craft on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal before the planned canal reopening in July.
Passage through locks will be available from Friday 12 June – Sunday 14 June. If you are planning to move please double check opening times carefully as these vary according to location due to water conservation and staffing restrictions.
Wigan Flight, Locks 65 to 85
8.30am – 10am for entry onto the flight only
12.30pm – 2pm for exit off the flight only
Top and bottom lock will be closed between these times to ensure no more boats can gain entry onto the flight. No boats will be permitted to enter the flight to start a journey in the second window.
Johnson Hillocks, Locks58 to 64
Open 10am closed 5pm. Last entry 4pm
Blackburn Locks, Locks 52 to 57
Open 10am, closed 4pm. Last entry 3pm
Barrowford Locks, Locks 45 to 51
Open 10am, closed 4pm. Last entry 3pm
Greenberfield Locks, Locks 42 to 44
Open 10am, closed 5pm. Last entry 4pm
Bank Newton Locks, Locks 36 to 41
Open 10am, closed 5pm. Last entry 4pm
Gargrave Lock, Lock 30
Open 10am, closed 5pm. Last entry 4pm
Bingley Locks, Locks 22 to 29
Open 10am, closed 5pm. Last entry 4pm. Restricted access
East to West (up) morning passages 10am -12:30pm.
West to East (down) afternoon passages 1:30pm - 4pm
TO say I'm furious is an understatement - WHY on earth (with perhaps the exception of Blackburn) do they have to have the flights locked and not open until 10am during the "Window"?
I mean, HOW the feck is anyone supposed to make any progress when you can't get into a flight before 10am ffs.
It's ridiculous. THAT means you can't even get down Barrowford in day 1 cause THAT flight stops access at 3pm and it's circa 6 hours from the Gargrave services which you can't even get into until the bottom lock is opened at 10am.
I'm sure someone will take bolt croppers to them.
twuntss
