Overall, it doesn't seem that the great multi cultural experiment is working too well. Many decades on, despite 'race relation' laws and the like, tensions seem to be increasing, rather than easing. I'd imagine that countries who have less of a mix, if they're looking on, won't be making a high priority of changing their own racial mix. Japan and China come to mind.

It bugged me that the guy got killed, but all the crap that's happened since just undermines the situation. All the shit with the police "taking a knee" is completely wrong, they are there to uphold the law, not make political statements. It's time cressida dick was sacked, she's been and continues to be a liability. Wtf is all this crap about taking a knee anyway? I agree with this.

The point of my story earlier was that vivre la difference, if it ever really existed, has gone in favour of being put out by la difference. Not good. I played in a band for several years with a Jamaican who had moved here as child in the 60's, another chap of Jamaican decent anf 2 anglo-indians. They all struggled to some extent, anglo-indians the worst as they felt repelled by both sides of their descent. But I've ever laughed so often as being in their company. My bro was married to a Trinidadian, my son's GF is half Indian. It's all good from my perspective. Separating into tribes never ends well, like it or not this is the modern world not some past century.

"The witnesses for the State, with the exception of the sheriff of Maycomb County, have presented themselves to you gentlemen, to this court... in the cynical confidence... that their testimony would not be doubted.
Confident that you gentlemen would go along with them... on the assumption... the evil assumption... that all Negroes lie, all Negroes are basically immoral beings, all Negro men are not to be trusted around our women.
An assumption that one associates with minds of their caliber, and which is, in itself, gentlemen, a lie, which I do not need to point out to you."

All I know is your leftwaffe mates have commandeered yet another issue and completely twisted it. What happened to the guy was awful, but I don't know the facts, and neither do you or the other idiots who are behaving like animals. I'll wait for the full facts to be released before passing judgement on thousands of people who have done f all wrong. One, or even several bad cops do not represent the majority, and definitely not in the uk.

What reasons/scenarios could justify that behaviour?

That's how he is to this day unless he popped his clogs. But he wasn't causing any racially aggrivated nonsense, he was in business with a bunch of Jamaicans and pretty soon best of buddies and that never changed. I don't like stereotyping. My very black sister in law was film producer, her father a brain surgeon and her mother something similar, bro was punching above his weight there, but nobody thinks all black women are film producers.

You are wrong, very wrong with what you suspect. It was more to do with the current day situation. The whole issue is a bit to close to home for me to comment rationally on here for long so I'll shut up and watch from the sidelines.

Fair enough, I'm miles away from it and always have been in terms of race causing any problem for ME. But then I'm white in a majority and have always blundered about expecting the best from people whatever colour they were and oddly that's what I got.
