I have to admit I'm disgusted at the litter louting - Personally, it' not the mass gatherings but the inconsiderate mess that offends ... surely this didn't happen before covid?- folks usually (well at least appear to) take stuff home or try and wedge in to overflowing bins don't they?- WHAT'S gone wrong? HAVE people forgotten how to behave or can the brain only cope with so much brainwashing?
AS for public loos still being closed - this is madness... what do local councils expect to happen with no loos open or pubs/Maconalds for folks to "go" in?

I just don't know, we've always had a summer litter problem here apparently, the bins are silly sized and u cannot fit much in. The seagulls empty what does go in. Guess they should employ some of the vast army of unemployed to keep it all clean...a little bit of thought and this problem can be managed... Decent sized seagull proof bins, regular emptying(more than once a day) and litter pickers plus on the spot fines to claw back some costs....

I get the impression local nimby councils are doing everything in their powers to exacerbate the situation so they can moan about it. Maybe, just maybe, you go to the beach, the bins are full, the bogs are locked, the local council has put up "please fuck off, you're not welcome" signs so your reaction just might be "fuck you too, have some litter and I'm going to piss in your garden".* *Just trying to understand the mentality, I'm a zero litterer, I was brung up right.

I should expect nothing less these days than to see the local councillors kneeling in front of the litter droppers.

I know there are those that suggest picking up litter just encourages people to drop it, as they know someone will pick it up for them ... but I think the opposite ... it actually seems to deter some of the litter droppers seeing others picking it up.
Throwing stuff out of cars really irritates me ... just leave it contained until your journey ends, then use a bin ... so easy.

Rog I was out walking along the seafront in Ramsgate one day and someone threw an empty fish and chip wrapper on the ground right in front of me, so I picked it up, gave him my most beatific smile and said "Don't worry mate, I'll put that in the bin for you". Well worth the effort for the sheer degradation, the look on his face said it all. He clearly felt about two inches tall. It did help that we had an audience, who nodded approvingly.

Something happened today, I found the car keys of a daft old bat who lives opposite us. I checked by unlocking and relocking her car and then took them to her house I rapped on the door and eventually got a response " who is it?" "Its Phil" "What do you want" "I've found your car keys" "Why" "because you dropped them in the carpark" "Oh well I can't come to the door" "Where shall I leave them? " " Just leave them on the top inside the door" She is a truly unsafe driver as she even has a a sticker on her speedo that she lines up when doing 30mph because she can't read the speedo but she reckons she only needs glasses for reading. Sounds like the old lady driving along a dual carriageway with her windows open, knitting. Rozzers drove up and shouted "Pull over !"
"No dear, it's a pair of socks" she replied.
You do get 'em.

"A woman, who is recording the incident, accuses her of fly-tipping, which is illegal and could result in a fine up to £50,000 or a year in prison." - so, why no fine, and why no year in prison? "When the apparent fly-tipper refuses to give her name, the woman filming tells her she will 'name and shame' her on Facebook." - ha ha, she has a name tag around her neck! Identification should be easy! And... why no police called? Take her car keys until they turn up. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8472025/Dramatic-moment-furious-landowner-confronts-fly-tipper.html#comments
