Maybe you should change bars? That’s nothing like where il be today. Fortunately I'm not so needy for company as to foist myself onto a group of strangers, just so I can talk to someone. Plenty of people along the canal for that. Anyway, I can't afford to go to the pub. But the bar I’m going to is full of people I know. Many are friends.

I have a 4 pack of Speckled Hen, a 4 pack of Hobgoblin and I'm only halfway through re-reading "Swatchways and Little Ships" so I have no need for a pub at the moment
To be honest the only time I would miss a pub is when I have done a full hard day at the drydock and call at the dockside pub with the other guys from the yard for a pint before going home (The pub is a proper workers pub where you are welcome in overalls and rigger boots)
but then at the moment I miss doing the work at the yard

The safe way to visit the pub.
1. Walk to pub 2. See how packed it is 3. Go across the road to the off-licence and buy some cans. 4. Go home and drink them 5. Er 6. That's it

'Safe' and 'pub' ... oxymoron. Sometime in the next week when the weather improves (please improve) we'll be walking ... we'll pass a pub beer garden ... serendipity Rog

Might have guessed the weekend we decide to cast off, that it would be so. I love a pub garden. This poll has surprised me, I’d have thought more might venture out. Where I’m going tonight is where I play winter snooker league. It’s predominantly a bowling club. Average age of patrons must be 70+. Will be interesting to see how many visit later.

He doesnt care if its tipping it down the inside bar is closed I think with smaller pubs going inside will be difficult. I won’t be rushing into small bar areas. Lime kilns on the Ashby have posted a video of how they will work. It doesn’t look particularly inviting. Your right about the pubs needing business. Be a sorry state of many disappear because of this.

No pub for us this weekend, moored in Chester now having lunch then getting hell out of here before the chaos starts, I think it was a really bad idea opening the pubs on a Saturday, a Tuesday would have been better, and pubs with only outdoor space or a decent size indoor space, this isn’t going to help the spread of it.

My fave pub is "opening" today, I say opening but the bar/brewhouse is closed, beer field is open, drinks will be served through the door of the brewhouse. If it rains which it is at present tough. I am staying at home.
