Not while people acknowledge he exists. Makes no difference, he/she/it will continue to post until his/her/its account is deleted. Needs to happen too, the old Usenet groups were completely killed by mass spam messages. Delta9 hasn't been online for a few weeks but if anyone has his contact details perhaps they could text him?

I wonder if contacting Proboards would be wise ? or not ? I'd leave it for a while, can remember Proboards not being too accepting of some of the posts on here after D9 contacted them about a technical issue...

I wonder if contacting Proboards would be wise ? or not ? it does depend on what foxy has posted recently.

If only there was some way of appointing people to be able to, what might you call it? .. Ah yes - moderate, that's the word.

There's a big difference between moderating a forum so as to remove content expressing an opinion with which the moderator disagrees and an administrator removing a bot posting automated messages designed simply to damage the forum.

Not while people acknowledge he exists. Au automated spam-sending system does not care about acknowledging, neither does the rain care about falling whether you have an umbrella or not. It could just be some random attack sent out to all and sundry, like the coronavirus itself, attaches itself to some and not others, or a disgruntled person with a grudge against TB. Has anyone here upset anyone recently?

Has anyone here upset anyone recently? I Googled the post yesterday and saw on the Google result page that it had appeared, word for word, on an Anime forum a few weeks ago although clicking through to the page resulted in an Error 404 message as the post had been removed. Today it isn't showing in Google search results so presumably the Google spider didn't find it on its most recent visit to that forum. As there is very little crossover between Anime and narrowboating and they appeal to widely disparate age groups, I suspect it is a malevolent bot.

. As there is very little crossover between Anime and narrowboating ... You know what they say about assumption ! I once met a moderately old couple on a narrow boat and the woman was really into tellytubbies. She must have been at least sixty years old. I know that's not anime but it's not something one would normally associate with older people.

I would call the required person admin, not to moderate but be a receptionist.
