Not great coverage .... and I'm on PAYG - which seems to be eating my data this time.

I’ve had a three account for ten years (since I got the boat.) They forced ne to sign a new contract, to get unlimited tethering (a service I had originally.) The new contract has an annual increase built in. Since I’ve had the new contract the service is appalling. I’m seriously thinking of changing.

Apart from the upper reaches of the Llangollen, we haven't had a signal problem with Three.
Having said that I suppose it depends what you wish to do with the signal ... I don't down load stuff ... just the occasional You tube view and this place.
Is it the geographical location ... or are you continually experiencing weak signal strength ?

The UK is notorious for crap mobile phone signals / mobile data signal. All these private companies just concentrating on the cream in the cities. If the UK could have a well-run nationalised network it could be half the price and double the efficiency. But it's Boris & his Etonian pals running the show, with Rishi and his Magic Money Tree (just give it a shake, Rishi!). I see HS2 is in the red already - before even being built! "Delivery of HS2 given red warning rating by Government experts" "Red ratings are given to schemes for which “successful delivery of the project appears to be unachievable”." www.itv.com/news/2020-07-13/delivery-of-hs2-given-red-warning-rating-by-government-experts Pay rise for the NHS staff? Nah - a bit of clapping* will do. (*now banned!)

"Delivery of HS2 given red warning rating by Government experts" 'The delivery of HS2 has been given the highest risk warning by Government experts on major projects.
It is the first time the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) has assigned the high-speed railway with a red rating since its annual reports began in 2013.
The IPA assesses the likelihood of large schemes fulfilling their objects on time and in budget.'
The experts haven't got it right yet 'in budget' hmmn it's never been in budget!!! I could have told them that years ago for a fraction of the IPA costs (and still retired comfortably...).

What I dont understand is once upon a time it was brilliant O2 seems the best here nowadays I think it’s because they have been selling lots of “unlimited,” contracts again recently. The same happened last time they did that.

I'm on 3 unlimited which varies dramatically speed wise - from enough to watch netflix, to take ages to open a website. My EE is faster generally but capped at 32gb per month
David has Virgin 100gbs on his phone which when the other 2 don't work so well, we use as a hotspot - currently giving 5mbs

I use 3 at home (no phone line) currently getting 45.6mb. It did wibble a bit (down to 10mb) at the beginning of lockdown but apart from that its been stable.
