And hi vis vests with your insurance number to be mandatory Wouldn't that be good. Proper fast ebikes with insured riders. They did it with cars, and motorcycles. An ebike is basically a motorcycle. Motor + cycle. Small high power motors are a relatively recent thing so laws need to be changed to accommodate the new tech. A transport system based on personal electric 2 Wheel Vehicles must be ideal.

Exactly, bring fast ebikes into the same category as motorbikes ie not allowed on towpaths.
Of course you could ride it as a normal bike back to the boat but use of powered personal transport vehicles on towpaths definitely not appropriate.
