We moor our boat on the T&M near Litchfield. Looking for a boatyard/wharf where we take it out if the water onto a low level hardstanding (i e so the boat is not high from the ground) to do some maintenance/repairs. Would need to live aboard whilst working. Does anyone know of any place with those facilities? Cheers in advance!

Thought you were heading back to your mooring at Willington when I met you last year - assuming they can't offer something there?
How low do you need to go? There are places on the network where the piling is low enough to gain sufficient access for many jobs.

Sorry, Wychnor/Willington - you can't remember/believe EVERYTHING people tell you .... Still not that close to Lichfield, though ... as dogless suggested - Streethay (WHY not an option?) is closest, followed by Kings Orchard (now part of the ABC empire I believe). Good luck x

I did go back to my mooring in October and some pikey b*****s broke in!!!! I am now 3 weeks into a trip down the Nene/Ouse Just arrived at Ely. It's something I want to tee up for later in the year or early next year. As to Streethay I would rather not go into that for now least to say I unfortunately have a dispute with them.

There are some lovely people down that way (Nene/Ely/Ouse) who I'm sure would be more than willing to help if you ask nicely ....

Not in your chosen area but Westview at Earith on the Ouse are very accommodating.

Doing boat works on the fenland waterways seems a bit risky to me in weather terms.
You could find yourself stuck there.
Of course this does not matter much if that's where you want to be but if you need to get back to the cut afterwards then potential for issues me thinks. Specially with the return journey being up the Nene. It's a lovely river but quite rude after rain.

I would prefer to use somewhere closer to my mooring but willing to travel a bit. Just need somewhere they can crane or lift me out onto a couple of railway sleepers and leave me to it.
