All that planning? All that hassle? Gotta be desperate to consider it... me I reckon I'd just go away in my car, switch off the phone and hideaway somewhere where none of my lot would find me.... another alternative would be perhaps a sneaky last minute boating jolly from Liverpool docks on 25th August for 7 nights to Northwich (The old Broken Cross) as due to quarantine restrictions from abroad, that trip is now available lol

Inheritance tax will take 40% over £340k?, You will need to make a will or it all goes to your siblings etc. Far more financial complications. £325k if you are single, if married and your estate passes to your spouse there is no IHT to pay until second death where both allowances are combined so it would be £650K before IHT is payable EXCEPT if you have passes your main residential property to a direct descendant where a “fiddle factor” means that you don’t start paying until about £1mill up to £2mill when that ceases. Depending upon the value of your property. Oh, and if you leave 10% of your estate to charity the IHT % paid is reduced by the square root of diddlysquat so not really worth doing tbh. all clear? Hope that helps.

Grrrr... Did I mention we leave Stretford on Tuesday am bound for Liverpool? Guest to pick up in Appley Bridge then pootle along to the docks on 19th - I suspect a stoppage to be announced imminently.

I wasn’t commenting on individual circumstances, just the law in general.

Shirley, no I mean patty, that task would be best achieved in a small ish space that isn't your own, where there is a ready supply of pink marigolds and someone else to clean up. Is the pup a Sooner btw. Sooner piddle on the carpet than go outside!

I would imagine the first rule of successfully faking your own death is not to discus it on a public forum before you do it.

Have you looked up Lord Lucan or Shergar, they were successful in the enterprise.

It would work quite well in my case because of the family history of loads of suicides.
Likely that a coroner would just say "oh yes he's another one isn't he" and not look to carefully at the bank statements.

Likely that a coroner would just say "oh yes he's another one isn't he" and not look to carefully at the bank statements. The statements are a risk so I'd recommend declaring yourself bankrupt before engaging in any wildly irresponsible behaviour. Actually I could nominate an expert in this area for advice, should you need it, but the first requirement is knowing someone who lives nearby that you trust.
