now I do.
From Date: 10/08/2020 00:00 To Date: On-going Type: Navigation Closure Reason: Vandalism Is the towpath closed? No
Due to vandals causing damage to the lock wall and ladders, Meadow Lane Lock has had to be temporarily closed off. Our structural Engineer will be attending site today to assess the damage and the works needed to reopen the lock as quickly as possible. Once this assessment has been completed, we will be able to update our website with a time scale of when the repair works will be completed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate our customers patience at this time blah blah blah

Meadow lane lock is out of action apparently, anybody know anymore? Probably someone who hadn't seen any of the TB expert's warnings about the Trent tides and shipwrecks in the Nottingham area. I expect they were draining the lock down with the boat tied short on the 'swimming pool' type handrails on the tops of the ladders, . . . and hadn't noticed how low the tide had fallen in the river below the lock !

Actually, I was reading about the Trent recently, from Canal Planner, for our future trip downstream. I hope you have persuaded CRT to do the dredging before we arrive! Meadow Lane Lock is just above Meadow Lane Junction, which is where the Nottingham Canal hits the River Trent. Here it is:

Coronavirus: The top 10 most affected areas in Nottingham A rise in cases across the county has become a 'cause for concern' in the recent week
New data has has revealed exactly which areas of Nottingham have been most affected by coronavirus. Covid-19 cases are on the rise again in Nottingham and beyond, public health officials say, and they are calling for people to act now to avoid local lockdowns similar to that in Leicester.
An outbreak was also confirmed at the Bakkavor desserts factory in Newark (avoid anything they have produced!!)
The top 10 areas for number of confirmed cases:
Beechdale - 56
Clifton south - 56
Forest Fields - 52
Wollaton Park - 49
Clifton north - 48
Bobbers Mill - 45
Broxtowe and Cinderhill - 44
Radford - 42
Basford Park Lane - 39
Bilborough north - 39

I reckon TonyDunkley might have explained that above. According to CRT boaters are vandals. It's a well known issue. Yes he is a vapouring old senile curmudgeonly git with a forest on his shoulder but he does know what he is talking about

Bakkavör: In April 2017, many supermarkets had to recall the company's hummus because of poor quality control.
Bakkavor Foods USA, Inc. Issues Voluntary Recall of Trader Joe's Egg Salad and Potato Salad Because of Possible Health Risks
More than 1,000 employees at Bakkavor Foods in Spalding, Lincolnshire, have voted by 83 per cent in favour of strike action over a 1.5 per cent pay offer, which represents a cut in real terms. The workers, who make salads, meals and dips for the Co-Op, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury’s and Tesco, are furious at Bakkavor’s paltry proposal, given that the company recorded a £106 million pre-tax profit and a £1.6 billion turnaround in the past financial year.
