I can tell you (after spending a significant amount of time today staring at the brickwork) - the brickwork lining Caen Hill locks is now looking very shoddy!
29 locks - many helped by vlockies thankfully - a few beers now... No real rain but at least the temp has dropped a little.

Pleasant day in Staffordshire too ... bit more cloud cover and a stiff breeze so much more comfortable. Just sat out with a chilled Hophouse 13 Rog

Lucky, lucky you! Half way up in 2017 and a contingent of CRT peeps appeared... seven or eight ... Hooray!!! ... I thought..... Then amazingly they then turned back as one without as much as opening ONE gate so they could head into the cafe.....

Caen hill spoilt for me back in 2001 going down because the scrap yard beside the flight was on fire. www.gazetteandherald.co.uk/news/7365331.blaze-destroys-scrapyard-cars/Smoke everywhere and FB pumping water out of the pounds with nice Coventry Godiva pumps. It was ok coming back up the next spring. It was quite busy down the western end even back then god knows what it's like now !! Suspect standing room only.

I really was thankfull of the help having really struggled with sleeping due to the hot temps and humidity of the last few days (get back in your AC bus Foxy )

Do the lock keepers still race up and down the flight on quad bikes ?
It seemed a bit inappropriate to me at the time but quite handy I suppose.

Rain at times(just to update weather forecast on here)...murky...warm... On the beach..well to be precise as we walked off the beach..grandson nearly knocked for six by a racing 'must beat my PB idiot cyclist who then screamed at us... He also shouted at dog walkers.....

Another nice bridge of course is Hammersmith bridge but it's just been announced that nobody is allowed on it at all because it is cracking up.
How sad.
And over a hundred million pounds to fix it !!
Surely it would be better to build a new one.
