Yes it is. A true gentleman. I had sort of hoped to meet him as we passed through Brentford. I had no idea he was ill, and thought he had many years left.

Very sad news. It is a reminder that we don't know what is going on in fellow forum members lives. Nigel was probably a rarity in that he was respected as a member and for his legal knowledge both here and on the other place. I don't remember anyone having a spat with him in either place. If anyone wanted any legal question answered it was always 'Nigel Moore will know the answer to that'. I must admit that I rarely understood half of what he posted when he was describing legal things, but that is my bad not his. RIP Nigel.

That's a shame. I knew he was gravely ill but hoping he would recover. RIP Nigel. A forum member I have met on more than one occasion and found likeable. His lady is also very pleasant. I hope she's okay. He will no doubt enjoy his pipe and slippers wherever he is going

Sadly Nigel passed away on 23rd August. He had been suffering from terminal cancer. Will miss him terribly. Thats come as quite a shock..I guess those we 'meet' on line become a real part of our lives It does serve to illustrate how little we know about our online friends. I will miss his input, he knew his stuff and i always thought of him as someone I'd have liked to meet. Like others I didn't understand a lot of what he said but his knowledge will be missed by many. RIP..

In the battle for canals and rivers against CRT and EA we have lost the very best that we could have! I loved his well balanced posts full of knowledge and facts, the world is a poorer place for his passing. May his onward journeys be trouble free and without failed locks

That is a very sad loss indeed.
Thoughts go out to Nigel's nearest and dearest.
Nigel was instrumental in keeping the reins on the MLC with the bill they put before parliament.
He also had a very easy and fluid style of prose which was a pleasure to read, no matter what the subject was.
He will be a sore loss to the entire boating world, be that virtual or where it really matters - the real world where boaters are boaters rather than usernames on a screen.
RIP Nigel.

So sad, not only a loss to the boating community. The two forum's but to humanity in general. One of the last few true gents.
His post were always a pleasure to read and so full of knowledge.
The world will be a poorer place.
Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
