To be fair I had a long PM discourse with Athy about my post. He wanted me to tone it down but I agreed only to make it clear I was referring to one mod, not all of them, which I did. He has now “unhidden” the original thread, which was good of him but a bit late! The story now being put out is that it was all down to some weird glitch in the software. Like probably a secret filter that denial put in to delete any threads with links to thunderboat!

As the OP, you think they might have contacted me about my transgressions edited to add: I have the answer, the software has an attitude problem apparently. I have suggested someone had to programme the software to have the problem.

I think Thunderboat needs a bit of advertising, but there's no point trying to encourage those on Canalworld to come over - I'm sure many do, anyway. Putting ads up round the waterways is, I think, the way to go - plaster TB ads over those stupid duck signs! Or how about taking an ad out in Waterways, the magazine of the IWA?

My signature over there is "sweary, chip shouldered, weird and happy, www.thunderboat.boards.net" I put it on when I moved here, never had my legs smacked for it. Neither has it been picked up by "the software". @socks do you have any insider knowledge?

It is a little sad, but perhaps unsurprising that the CWDF default in relation to Thunderboat is to refer any reference to moderation.
Very sad that this revelation should be made in connection with the sad death of Mr Moore, a member and respected contributor to both sites.
It is especially sad that current CWDF members just want the past consigned to history and forgotten.
Many here were banned for no discernible reason, and have no voice there, simply because a 'clique' decided they could do so.
Without transparency and accountability, the same can happen again ... and who knows who'll fall foul of the 'clique' this time.

"Try and start a new thread with a Thunderboat link in it in the VP and see what happens to it."
"I just tried this and yes it did say it would need to be approved by a moderator. I just posted a thread called "test" and the content was "www.thunderboat.boards.net". So it's a filter in the software."
"The problem is probably NOT caused by those who created the forum, but by someone else modifying code afterwards" - yes, this seems likely... but would hardly be surprising. Still, would be a bit of a shame as the two forums seem to be sitting quite well together these days.

CWDF Virtual Pub vanished! (some shifty alteration / sleight of hand behind the curtains?)

Coffin dodging gammons the majority of them. CWDF, coffin waiting delinquents forum. Oh they had plenty of delinquents but failed to appreciate them and struck out with the Mod Hanmer. I know because I was one and was there Phil
