Or is Canal World full of gob shit internet warrior wankers? Or is it just half of them? and the other half sarcastic warrior wankers? Hard to tell from what I read on there. There chat room is a wash of pontificating pricks & prickesses. Woe betide any newbee asking a simple and relevant question without mike the boiler blowjob queen sticking his ore in with some middle ages slug shit joke to answer noting but his ignorance. Anyway off to do something else like finnish my pint, Great weekend folks Rob

The problem with CWDF is not the members, who are an eclectic and disparate mix of boaters, but with the Daniel Hutch, who seems to view it simply as a propaganda platform for his political views, and won't tolerate anybody who disagrees with them... one might think that the referendum result in June would have been enough to give him the wake-up call he needed, but unfortunately the inadequate penis-licking wanker is so far up his own arse that the message simply hasn't sunk in. No wonder he got the sack from JCB.
He won't last forever, and CWDF will be a far better forum once he has gone, as it was before he got control of it.

Perhaps they should have a poll to decide whether they want someone else to run it. I wonder how long that would stay up?

I think that if there was such a poll, the massive majority of CWDF members would vote to get rid of him, and of course you are right, any poll asking if he should stand down would be instantly deleted. On eu referendum day, the nauseating hypocrite replaced his avatar with a "Vote Remain" avatar, despite stating just a week or two previously that there was a site-wide ban on politics- as soon as he realised that he and his fellow Bremaniacs were destined to be on the losing side.

I think you kid yourselves that the majority of members would vote for a change. People do not like change even if they do not like the status quo. That is why the referendum was such a historic and important warning gun to the politicians. The country was on the edge of eruption because the majority of the population had been push too far. Now I am not sure that on CWF anybody but the intelligentsia have any real concerns about the route that CWF is taking. However, a poll would not matter, in my opinion you have the immature ego of dh to get past. I think like a child in a sweet shop he loves being the owner and telling that to whoever will listen and basking in the glory, as he sees it, of being the big cheese. When actually I suspect those he is trying to impress end up realising that for dh it is an ego trip. If, big if, he could be persuaded to pass it on I would be willing to take it on. I have run forums before. The last being one for disgruntled talk talk customers which ended up changing the boards attitude with that board paying the forums legal costs without going to court. I don't know how long I could do it for, at 75 on Tuesday how much longer the deity, nature, etc will give me is an unknown. However I believe it should be set up as a company with the shareholders being the members and go down that route. Just as always my thought creaking thoughts

Nah - I think we have to show by example, good boaty comments on here, and good witty discussions all round and Thunderboat will grow. I have popped into Canalworld now & then, I admit, to see what's new with the canals, and it is clear that it has dried up noticeably, you keep seeing the same old threads week after week. However, it remains, and always will, as a huge database. As I've said before, little adverts for this site put up on canalside shops' noticeboards, and perhaps pubs (if they have a noticeboard), will help spread the word. Feel free to copy and print my version - cut them out with scissors & off you go with some drawing pins & sellotape. For shop ads there may be a weekly charge, of course: I'm someone who likes to plan for the future, so an obvious question would be for how long is Thunderboat likely to be going? 5 years, 10 years..... 50 years? For the period this has been running, Google (and other search engines) have already gleaned many words, so random Google searches can lead here. In fact, I'm sure even putting 'naughtyfox twat' (thanks, tomsk!) will bring up a link to this site.I think even if Canalworld changed its owner and moderators, there would be an inclination, for me at least, to stay here; they think they have gotten rid of the troublemakers ('norty boys' as Wrigglefingers states), yet it could be looked from this angle, that the old farts have been left behind. I have certainly come across some nasty characters from Canalworld and, unfortunately, on this small inland waterways system may have to pass them - but in that case I shall remain polite and courteous, yet aloof and not dither to engage in lengthy conversation (I have a list with me). For balance, I have come across many very nice people on Canalworld and would bend over backwards to help them, and am still grateful for their advice. Good luck to both sites! Err, no, and the search results are not for the faint hearted, or even the pretty broad minded.

But 'naughtyfox canal' comes up on the fourth hit.
"...and the search results are not for the faint hearted, or even the pretty broad minded." - haha, I checked! Yes, a bit lurid!
However: type in 'naughtyfox twat tomsk' and Thunderboat is the first, second, third and fourth hit!

'Wriggly': "If you re-open another thread discussing this, you will be suspended and with it, your ability to use the messaging system."
'southernstar': "It's funny how you've been able to survive without any sane person standing on your throat."
Birds of a feather, flock together.

I've been donating a small monthly amount to CWF for about a year.
Stopped it tonight.
It takes a lot to piss me off but they've managed it.

The pantomime over on CWDF gets funnier by the minute. Lady Shmuck has posted this on the "Wee Flounce" thread :-
"We really cannot discuss our decision right now, that's all we're prepared to say on the matter. All I can do is apologise but in this situation and regarding these threads, it's not open for debate. Please if you have any questions, message us in private, but don't expect us to say much! We've made the terms and conditions quite clear, repeatedly trying to breach them isn't going to make them go away."
and RLWP has followed up with this :-
"So, with my devil's advocates hat on (aren't the horns lovely?). Two recent threads concerned current legal cases. Both revealed significant parts of one side of the case. In both cases, neither party who was subject of the legal action was a participant on this forum. I can imagine lawyers preparing a case for these people demanding that such stuff was taken off the internet, otherwise going into court against CRT was a total waste of time"
..... ..... Every word of which is utter bollocks !

Crazy they do not even know that both sides knows all the evidence that the other has got before the matter goes into Court and that is required by the court's rules. lol If someone tries to spring a new piece of evidence on the other side Judges get upset. I am amazed as to how little they know about the process.
