First off - Leawood Pump House on a 'steaming day'.
Approach over the Leawood Aqueduct.
Is that Nick...
The size of the pump was because water was a real commodity in the area (lots of legal battles) due to the Mills in the area needing water. The pump had to fill the canal from the River Derwent only on Sunday's when the mills were closed. There where still complaints about low water levels and groundings (some things never change...).
