Following Loddon's kind offer to let me have his drysuit just for the cost of postage it's now my turn.
I have a Chinese (Workzone) generator that I don't need. It hasn't been run for 4 years so if anyone wants it I'll check it runs and powers before you make any journey. It's free to anyone on this forum and includes a bottle of 2 stroke oil. I'm at Calveley, I'll be between here and Nantwich for the next month or so. Can't post it sorry, no way of getting it to a post office. If anyone from further afield wants it it might be possible for one of our long distance cruiser types to pick it up and drop it off sometime in the future.

I'm heading that way next week - then on to Llangollen, then to Nantwich to Penkridge and then up to Etruria for the caldon if that route is any use to anyone wanting it - won't get to the Caldon until mid Oct though. I think I leave Nantwich for the final time this year around 30th Sept.

Maybe everyone's slightly reluctant to accept your kind offer as you've identified folks using engines and gennies as 'knobheads' and 'idiots'. Rog

Rog I did qualify that, it's almost impossible to live off grid in the winter months without using some form of generator. During the summer months though...

Whilst we're giving stuff away, I want rid of my Thetford cassette toilet asap, plus the spare cassette. It's got a little blue button and is connected to the water and 12v supplies, so I'm guessing it has an electric flush. It'll be over 5 years old (as is the boat) but the engine only had about 650 hours on it, so the toilet will likely be little-used in proportion. Currently at Wansford on the Nene, heading to Fotheringay tomorrow, then probably a marina for a couple of days whilst I go and fetch the car. My small bathroom is now basically full of toilets, so I can't hang onto it for more than a few more days, but it'll be in good nick and might save someone spending out on a new one.
PS- does anyone have any tips on disconnecting and capping off the water feed pipe to the toilet? I dont think its pressurised or anything, so I'm hoping I can just cut it and put something over the end to seal it for now, and maybe get a more permanent job done by a pro when I'm on the GU.

Self-sealing tape. I reckon that will work.

Fab, thanks Nemesis, it does look like 15mm- its tucked well away in a corner and about an inch off the ground so I cant measure it properly, but it has to be 15mm. But before I take a hacksaw to that water feed pipe, I would like something to seal it whilst I fiddle around getting the end cap on in the first place. Some kind of small clamp maybe?

Turn off the water pump first, then you might discover its an on off valve that its connected to fingers crossed. I am interested in the toilet for the other boat how much?

If you want to leave it at Blackthorn Marina I will take it off your hands. I need a spare cassette

Put a towel on the floor below it...but there must be a stopcock valve somewhere, perhaps on the pipe immediately exiting the water tank (that's where I'd put it).
