All in all I estimate the roof will weigh around 110kg. But of course the weight I will need to lift will be around half that as much of the weight will be supported at the rear, and additionally I will be lifting from a far easier starting position than dead-lifting the same weight from ground level.

Or just build it higher so you don't need to lift the roof...

Just don't do it. A thread title like that usally leads to a picture of a shagged Ferrari/Porsche, a rusty old campervan, a half sunken wreck or a midlife crisis with two wheels and a Power Ranger suit. Imagine my disappointment to see a 7Lb weight I'm your photo.π 0/10 - must try harder π΅π¬ 1948 Ford F1 6 cylinder pickup truck from Logan City Near Vegas! cost me 800 dollars and a lot more to ship it back, couldnt believe what I had done in the morning

Or just build it higher so you don't need to lift the roof... Its specific purpose is as an anti-weathering shelter for the Honda Express so it only needs to be tall enough to accommodate said Honda, and as a standard four-way pallet measures 48" x 40" it made sense to use 48" deckboards as the main body uprights as these only need to be de-nailed and painted with Cuprinol before they are ready to build with. If the roof proves too heavy to lift (I don't think it will) then I will screw it back down (it is temporarily screwed down at the mo for construction purposes but the screws will be removed before the roof and roof hinges are fitted) and then I will saw away the horizontal crosspiece at the top of the door opening, which will allow slightly easier access. It's one of those projects which evolve by a process of trial and error and I'm comfortable with that and additionally consider the proportions to be aesthetically pleasing. If I ever built a second Honda Express shed, it would take less time as I would be further along the learning curve and would have learnt from mistakes I made on this one but I would generally build pretty much the same thing in the same way.

Have you factored in the condensation problem?

Have you factored in the condensation problem? There won't be one. It will be neither drier nor damper than ambient conditions but it will keep sunlight, rain and snow away from the bike.

I'm glad to hear you added some ventilation. The bike may be slightly warm after the police chase.

I'm glad to hear you added some ventilation. The bike may be slightly warm after the police chase. Also, you may have to sleep in there if you upset Shania.
