Will be doing the Llangollen early October, its our five year anniversary also so would like to have a nice meal somewhere, any suggestions for a decent eating places along the way, within walking distance from mooring.
Guess we would be setting off early Saturday from Nantwich and would like to go for a meal on the Monday night, so three days cruising would get us to Ellesmere I guess?

I know it's a pub & not a fancy restaurant, but quite a few people rate 'The Red Lion'in Ellesmere for good food. It'll be our local soon-contracts exchanged today & get the keys next Wednesday. We haven't been in yet but the menu look pretty good.😊

We like the Black Lion at Ellesmere, but it was shut when we were there earlier in the year ... hopefully open now.
Dusty Miller at Wrenbury was quite good but not cheap ... Cotton Arms across the road was good pub grub and cheaper.
We like the Willeymoor which is lockside ... but it's just a family run pub ... old fashioned but good ordinary pub grub.
Worth ringing ahead wherever you choose as some are currently not doing food, or restricted menus or pre booked tables only.

Food and Llangollen? Just don't say it while your mouth is full. Bits spray everywhere.

I had a nice time in The Aqueduct Pub Just outside of Trevor a few weeks ago... Unfortunately, it all went a bit wrong when I pointed out to Ms B that there was someone sat behind her with a similar dress style! 🙄

The couple of times we moored there we didn’t eat anywhere. Pubs all seemed a little, erm tired. Was rather like Nuneaton in fact 😀
