Just looking at photos on google maps, sure they are nice pubs and if we stop there will more than likely head into them for a beer, but not sure they are what I am looking for in terms of food. The couple of times we moored there we didnβt eat anywhere. Pubs all seemed a little, erm tired. Was rather like Nuneaton in fact π Went over Nunny last week to do a couple of things in town, market was non existent, shops are getting worse and half the co op seems to have vanished with what looks like a cinema about to be built? We didn't stay long.

Oh. Well we have been away a few weeks. Was open in July is all I can be sure of. Personally Iβd knock the lot down and start again. The new retirement apartments look good though. Bloody pricy mind.

Maybe its still open then, I had it in my mind it had closed for good some time ago.
The whole area around the library and old police station needs something doing, looks terrible..

Bit scruffy and lots of run down pubs and charity shops. Like Nuneaton, I expect itβs a decent place to live, but the centres are crying out for investment.

we are still on the Llangollen #(well until tomorrow) and have eaten in the Poachers pocket in Chirk, and the cornmill in Llangollen in the last few weeks - the latter was the best but more expensieve ... the Poachers is a Masrtons so you know what you are getting but it's nice enough. All "socially distanced enough" but a pain having to go outside following the one way system to have a pee and then back in the front door to get back to your table etc.

Ellesmere centre is quite small & not at all scruffy.Think you must have been there at a bad time as nothing at all like Nuneaton.Great bakery/deli,good butcher, posh deli/cafΓ©,smart florist, old fashioned jewellers, posh boutique, smart Co-op,really nice interiors place etc Yes,there are a few charity shops but that's a bonus for me.

Enjoyed the Bridge at Chirk when I spent a month up that way year before last. Think it might be closed now though. Great landlady at the time. Cornmill is the one by the river? Lovely spot.

Thinking we might head for Dusty miller at Wrenbury for Saturday night.
What's the crack with the basin at Llangollen, can you just rock up and plug in to the electric if they have spots?
How far can you in a 57ft also before running out of turning space?
