Thinking we might head for Dusty millet at Wrenbury for Saturday night. What's the crack with the basin at Llangollen, can you just rock up and plug in to the electric if they have spots? How far can you in a 57ft also before running out of turning space? Pretty much just rock up, loads of space on the towpath with electric too. You should pay in the visitor place.
Turn in the entrance to the basin unless you want to reverse. Basin has plenty of turning space so just drive in.

From memory £10, might be less though. If you arrive late and leave early you can't pay but still get electric free.

Hope you have a good time and enjoy your meal wherever you end up.

its 6 quid a night - to be paid at the horesdrawn boat place... 4 hours free though so if you arrive after they close and go before they open next morning it's free.. a lot of the hire boats rock up late and bugger off early but that'll be due to only having the boat for a few days. Max 2 night stay with 1 night away in between returns.
There is "something" at the far end of chirk tunnel that means you really have to power hard to get out of it... well we do anyway - and again in the penultimate narrow bit between trevor and Llangollen. we must be deeper than the paperwork says.

The welsh don’t want us visiting. Oddly I note that covid cases are lower in the newly lockdown areas in Wales, than the cases in much of England. All very confusing.

Not the place for an anniversary meal I don't think...Going to the end of the arm is interesting but we didn't stop.It looks to be quite a run down place, however the day time drunks did seem quite friendly.😁
