I've been trying to work it out for more years than I can remember but have failed.
The closest I can get is Half of 50% of the square root of 16 times its length multiplied by 2 and divided by half of 4.
Others may have a more accurate figure. If so I would appreciate it.

If it's CRT blue string it's very hard to say, never long enough to tie a boat up properly though

I do wish you hadnβt asked that question, took me ages to unravel that big ball of string and even longer to re-roll it up again however all is not lost, the answer is 347foot 9 and 3/4 inchesππ€

Only just long enough, pah π anything longer is redundant and is harder to maintain in an acceptable state of usefulness.

you will also need to record the humidity at the time of measurement, the tolerance in your measurement taking into account the calibration of your measuring device, and the tension applied to the string.
please repeat if these factors were not recorded at the time.

I know the answer but it's top secret. If I revealed it on a public forum I'd be strung up.

As you seem much more technically minded than me viz string length shall I post my balls to you for correct calibrationπ
