Now I know there are arguments about the legality of CRT enforcing the T and Cs of your licence, but they are now proposing changes to some of the T and Cs.
Some changes seem quite draconian to me, what about you?

Which changes seem quite draconian to you? Do we have to guess?

I just got the email .
Must have a look and see what sort of draconianness is in there.

Ouch yes that section C is a bit heavy !
And section D where you are allowed on the waterway but no right to availability of the infrastructure and no refunds for closed waterways.
ETA some of these changes will have a major impact on certain groups of boat owners.
This will be interesting to watch me thinks...
I wonder if there will suddenly be a lot more boats for sale.

I wonder whether a motor and butty could comply with section F. That's a good one. 7ft each ( a lot of old workboats are 7ft not 6ft 10) makes 14ft I don't think CRT advertise that beam for k&a or grand Union so that's slightly silly.

Yes some very draconian measures. I agree with magnetman if these happen then it’s going to change the waterways. As usual it’s a done deal before they’ve put out the consultation. They are just wanting to be seen to do the right thing by consulting.

Interesting about the change in self declaration of exemption from the safety scheme. I wonder if that’s especially for Tony?

So they want to outlaw people with home moorings from messing about on boats locally and apply the stupid ",proper journey" bollocks.
This is an more atempt to circumvent the law.
The rest of it is anti boating?
I note they want to abandon the traddition of major works during the winter so watch out for major closures all year round and aspecially in the summer when the weather is better for fixing stuff.

It's all a bit mad isn't it. No doubt thought up by some chair polishers who never go on boats in a brainstorming meeting.
Some of it is understandable as there are some issues around but a lot of it seems like nonsense.

And of course, a contract cannot usurp legislation. Although getting a judge to back that up in this case might be difficult.

They are looking at a cheap option of avoiding the 95 act with this silly drivel. Parry gets worse by the day with his amateur attempts at running the trust. I was expecting them to also announce the 8% increase for boat licences, obviously saving that for tomorrow.
An out of control amateur organisation that spends more time thinking up drivel at the kitchen table than it does managing the trust's responsibilities.

I don’t know why they don’t proof read their own stuff before sending it out, it would greatly reduce annoying the great majority of boaters that just want to reasonably enjoy the waterways and not take the piss.
