You must have all of the good stuff out now. You could get a ridiculously big electro magnet on the crane you have on the toy trawler, power it with your lifepo4βs. Yes the old beam trawling magnet boat had occurred to me but my magnet fishing days are behind me now. I prefer to just do the boating, not that I can due to ill health at the moment. Your still suffering then?

Your still suffering then? Yes it's still bad. I took Dulcinea down for water which involved no locks and got back to the mooring which is a bit technical due to being tied to trees and it was all I could do to get it tied back up. It's a real nuisance I'll have to see the quack again next week I suppose as no sign of the MRI scan booking. I've worked out it is "Femoral Neuropathy" which apparently 70% of people recover from within a year. I thought it was going to be something more simple but nothing has changed in the last 2 weeks no better and no worse just full time pain and limited mobility. It's getting on my tits a bit now.

Yes sounds like a right load of hassle, well at least you can develop a good painkiller habit.

I do have stock of painkillers but I can handle the pain it's just a bit irritating.

Yes I know but the painkiller thing is relevant. I managed to get a repeat scrip for the codeine and as I have an exemption from paying I thought while I can get it I may as well. The tablets have gone into the original metal first aid box on Dulcinea which also has the needles and thread for sewing up one's own massive injuries while out in a storm in the Atlantic.
I felt that codeine phosphate 30mg might be useful for this kind of event. 48 tablets of above now in the box along with the cash.

Oh hell, that's not good to hear. I'm sure the thoughts of all the folks here will be with you, and hoping that they diagnose it pronto and sort you out. If you have any strings that can be pulled to speed things up, now would be the time to use them. In the one case I had to watch at at close quarters, my impression was that finding the root cause early is important. Please don't do the bloke thing and put it off Mr M, you need to chase these folks relentlessly, and don't hold back the missus from getting involved on your behalf

Thanks for the advice. Due to my hypermasculine personality (not a joke by the way) I -will- do the 'bloke thing' but it's good of you to suggest I don't. The woman has much more important things to do than worry about me It'll be okay.

No you fool thats the sail repair box. And the days of stitching yourself back up have passed. There are these things called sutures. I don't know what that orangey antiseptic they splash on like body lotion is called though.

Sutures are too modern.
And there are no sails on this vessel. Not even a steadying sail. None. No sails.

Like most boaters I see many shopping trolleys along the canal tow paths and in the Canals and I have come to believe that it is partially caused by boaters themselves. The supermarkets are also partly to blame having got clever, building lots if new shops close to the Canals for the increasing demand of boaters and now removing the pound coin deposit on trolleys. Over the last four years or so I have witnessed an increasing number of people who bring their shopping trolleys to their boats and then leave them on the towpath and sail away. Then someone comes along and thinks it great fun to push it in the canal. There may be the odd idiot who wants to push an empty trolley from a supermarket to the canal and push it in but I believe these people mostly just take advantage of those trolleys already left by boaters. The new craze of magnet fishing,(fun for the whole family) doesn't help either as they just dump the rubbish they find on the towpath ready for the next idiot to come along and throw it back in. I am not accusing anyone, just merely an observation. Itβs an utter waste. Where else can you get 4 good castors and a fair amount of weldmesh for a quid?

Your still suffering then? I've worked out it is "Femoral Neuropathy" which apparently 70% of people recover from within a year. And 30% don't! Herniated disc / pulled muscle is my guess. Eat more fruit and veg. Could be scurvy, out there on the Thames with no fresh oranges. Or course, Weil's Disease or Polonium poisoning - and Thames Water admit to tipping raw sewage into the river: "Thames water faces paying a record fine for dumping more than a billion litres of sewage in the river." www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4324888/Thames-Water-faces-record-fine-polluting-river.html
