Seeing as we are on Hardstanding for well into the new year most bridge hoppers will beat our distance traveled - let alone a stranded exile in Finland I'm going to stick my neck out and say naughtyfox won't be getting on a plane in December.

Is the Nene not a PRN waterway then? There are a few red boards out on the Thames including where my boat is moored but you are still allowed to navigate, it's not "closed" as such just strong advice to not navigate. Yes it is a PRN waterway. Its difficult to navigate when the locks are open both ends, makes it bit like trying to navigate over a Thames weir.

Two and a half months to go... what will happen? I thought the whole of Wales was on 'lockdown' but I see nothing about that afterwards.... really... all those people not allowed to cross the Severn? How many people are getting fined each day by the Police and their 'helpers'? Hard to find out exactly what is happening in the UK. I told my boss it's a load of old bollocks - if Covid-19 is so deadly, how comes I'm carting round full bus-loads of kids, and no-one is wearing masks in this bus company (not even her in our coffee room)? I think you are wrong about December, but we'll see. 50p bet? Anyway, here's a bike for you in Northampton: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/dawes-galaxy-touring-bike/124364467313?hash=item1cf4b32c71%3Ag%3AAyEAAOSwvltfeMhK&LH_Auction=1

I don't need to regale you all of the things my wife has seen and worked with - coping with it is different matter. Sitting on bus in rural Finland with a facemask on isn't really a comparison to working in ICU or dealing with end of life patients suffering with Covid. 50p? High stakes indeed! Either you're a tightarse or more unsure of the likelihood of your trip than you are making out on here. £5 to the RNLI either way would be more like it.

Someone scraped his scalp off recently on a broads bridge. Quite nasty.

"Northamptonshire hospital beds freed up in lockdown mass discharge remained empty for a month. Many patients were discharged untested into Northamptonshire care homes. Hundreds of beds at Northampton and Kettering hospitals freed up as part of a mass discharge at the start of lockdown remained largely empty for a month. 350 patients were moved out of the two Northants hospitals from March 23 as part of a Government ordered mass discharge operation to make room for an anticipated surge in Covid-19 admissions. 235 of the patients, who were untested for coronavirus, were moved into the county’s care homes. Since March there have been Covid-19 outbreaks in 85 of Northamptonshire’s 250 residential care settings with at least 128 residents dying from the virus. There were 16 deaths at Temple Court in Kettering, which has since been subject to a damning Care Quality Commission report and is currently being investigated by the police. There is no clear evidence of a link between the mass discharge into care homes and the outbreaks but nationally the government has been criticised for the decision, which saw at least 25,000 hospital patients in England discharged untested into care homes. There was no routine testing for the virus in care homes during March and April, with many thousands of residents losing their lives during those two months. In a briefing note to a Northamptonshire county councillor on April 26, Northamptonshire County Council’s director of adult social care Anna Earnshaw said the beds had remained’ generally vacant’ in the weeks after the discharge. She wrote: “350 beds were cleared and have remained generally vacant since the joint discharge activity commenced on national direction." www.northamptonchron.co.uk/health/northamptonshire-hospital-beds-freed-lockdown-mass-discharge-remained-empty-month-2910233
