No not the post immediately above !!! Bugger it !!! I must learn to read the whole thread before replying !!!
^^^^^^^ This in spades !!! Well said gazza Thick steel is not needed on a hull that is well maintained 4mm plate is likely. (let's be honest a hard chine Vee hull is very easy to get at and paint every area when on hard standing) A 3mm bottom, two packed and regularly maintained will last longer than an unpainted never looked at 10mm sewer tube base plate The killer for all plate (thick or thin) is local pitting, 1.5 mm pitting on a 3mm plate is a fail as it is 50% loss on the original scantlings whereas the same pitting on a 6mm plate would possibly get away with an advisory. The moral is ... don't get pitting Watch out for filler and any doublers (I say that because it looks like a doubler on the wheelhouse roof ...... which that high up on a bare shell is a lazy man's repair' I'm probably teaching you to suck eggs but this is more for any other people who might read this Glad you spotted that, i noticed when i first seen the pics and though, Not good. well not a disaster but a job to put right. Why the hell somebody would do that when its as easy to remove and weld in a new lid. That to me is worse than over plating a NB. Ill inpsect that as i real would rather remove and weld in a new top or atleast cut out the old original one.

Not quite so sharp a chine at the bow as the Elysian, but Hugh certainly was involved with Corvette marine. Cannot post photos on here, (not clever enough! Cut and paste doesn’t work!) so will email you a piccie of an Elysian bow.

It's the profile view I am talking about - the deadrise from the shearline on at the front of the bow.

Looking at your pictures, close, but Invader appears to have a marked "kick" where the windows finish.

not wishing to get drawn into a familly argument (but as Mouse bothered to come and meet me !!!) I must say, the window line on the bottom picture describes a pleasant curve ...... the top ones window line is ruler straight giving a much more angular boxey look

Hugh's hull signature is that shear line near the waterline and a fairly steep deadrise angle. If you look at the boats he was involved in - Elysian 27, Senior range and the Project/RLM/Princess off shoots along with the Eastwood 24 they all have it. the Marine Moulding/Corvette marine Starfish 8/10 has it too as I was trying to demonstrate with those two photos!

So had amad plan on this. from what the seller said its a solid boat, sailed it down from Scotland to Anglsey last year then to Connahs Quay where it sits. Ford 6 cylinder. £2k. I can see it being built as a minmin Grand Banks lol. In all seriousnus though as its 34 long and 11 wide. nice big cabin on the back with top deck/flybridge. www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/352396772538901

looking quite decent for the money really. Be interesting to see what the bilge looks like. The trawler behind it seems to have been upturned on its Port side judging by the mud staining.

That looks like a proper trawler. And seems to have been completely submerged. I bet that yard would be an interesting place to visit.
