Often very subjective and we rarely see the full version of events on social media or the news broadcasts ..... but there are occasions when what they do is not defensible, that's for sure. I'm talking about UK cops as that's what I understand, the system is very different here to other countries where they are all armed. I absolutely do not support the notion that the actions of agencies in the US should be used as an excuse to attack officers over here. |

Some bad ones slip through the selection process, but that doesn't make them all bad. If you are content that the unlawful activities of a small minority of police officers justifies breaking the law, by extrapolation the actions of a small minority of citizens also does. So, your contention seems to be that as some people don't follow the law, nobody else should have to either. So much for leading by example. |

Not "some people", officers of the law, they should set an example. They should also challenge and report their colleagues. It's their not doing right that encourages others to say, why should I then. I knew a lovely man, ex police, who left because of the attitude and canteen culture of his fellow officers. As a mild example, he was part of a TAG team, driving the van at 70mph on a busy motorway, a "colleague" behind him put a plastic bag over his head. WTF? |
