If you want a decent crimp tool it has to be Cembre. You will need a big wallet. I like their hydraulic cutters Good gear if you are a bike thief. Which I am not.

These ones look a cut above the usual £3 jobs that come with some boxes of crimp terminals. Knipex stuff is pretty good, if a bit pricey. Tbh I was amazed to see Knipex make junk like Foxy has in his toolbox! Next you'll be saying Snap-On spanners are shit. And Britool? And Teng? Anyway, the Knipex we have nicely stripped the covering off the cables I have been fiddling with and the lights we now have in the boat work very well thank you.

Some brands get reused for profit after the company is sold off.
My own former family business Crosby Doors had a good reputation it was sold off in the early 70s and since then the name has been used to brand crap products.
It's amazing the power of branding. I guess the same happened with Knipex.
Stanley tools is another obvious one.

I could post a photo of a hair curler and say the same thing. (but I wouldn't).
in case you hadn't noticed, MM was seeking advice about a type of CRIMPER. (for crimping terminals not for producing fuzzy hair ) There's always 240v mains and a damp finger for hair curling. poisonal 'speriance ?

I've always used my teeth for stripping wires. Well, I mean light wires. Like speaker wire and small single core wires. I wouldn't really fancy doing it on twin and earth types. It's probably bad for the teeth and I do have to stop myself doing it these days as it is a young man's game.

We have these and I have been quite happy with them. The only thing that is good for is cutting screws. Useless things for making off proper crimped connections Really? dam..I got one of them...

The only thing that is good for is cutting screws. Useless things for making off proper crimped connections Really? dam..I got one of them... Sadly as much use as a chocolate fire guard if you want to make off decent crimped connections - ok for cutting up to M5 screws and passable for stripping small gauge wire. As JohnV Pointed out useless for crimping. You need a dedicated ratchet crimping tool - so if you need one for crimping you may as well have a damned good pair of wire strippers/ cable shears / side cutters to do that job as well! naughtyfox will do his usual and try to convince himself his overpriced rubbish is actually the best thing since sliced bread - despite the fact he’s been told otherwise by people with more talent, skill, experience and good looks 🤦🏼♂️🍻👍
