But it is what it is ... won't be for ever " If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face— forever. ” Policing 'by consent' in the UK in 2020.

The virus is spread by droplet infection person to person as we all know. Restrictions are intended to reduce the spread, rightly or wrongly. Driving a vehicle for pleasure purposes and visiting your boat is not likely to encourage the spread -touching the pumps at petrol stations. -touching the buttons at the card-pay slot. -touching the door handle as you walk in to pay. -going to the toilet at petrol stations, opening the door, touching the button of the hands air dryer (which is always wet from the previous user). -touching the handle of the toilet. -person behind you in queue for cashier has no mask on and sneezes in your general direction. You'll probably find the Police shifts change around 4-6am, and it's the best time to choose a quiet country lane to get out of a Tier 3 zone. Turn your headlights off to avoid detection! I used a quiet country lane to avoid detection recently, it was called the M1 or something.

Goodness me - Does anyone REALLY believe the 'police' want this situation? ... ffs, every facet of life includes the occasional power-crazed idiot... be them behind till in a supermarket, running Scotland or on the tiller of a narrowboat-shouting orders at their wife.
It's a flaw of human nature I suppose. It doesn't mean EVERY Shop girl, copper or skipper is a megalomaniac though!
No one is going to starve cause of Brexit - Christ, I've enough tins of chickpeas on board to keep me going until I have time to grow some stuff on the boat roof if I have to. I refuse to panic in case I can't buy a lettuce from Spain at ANY point in my life... instead, I'll go for a walk, chat with someone (socially distanced of course) and continue to abide by own interpretation of the rules ... Just this week I've travelled (by car) from Manchester to Wakefield - 2 tier 3 places I admit for a hospital appointment with no sign of any power crazed police... just normal folks, TRYING to get on with their normal lives... as best they can.
Police state? bollocks... it's a PRESS and MEDIA frenzy caused by lazy reporting to "fill the pages" or "tv time"...
The best thing we can all do it turn the telly off... stop reading on line trashy newspapers and get on with life. Anyone would think this was America the way the press twist everything.

Rog I am more mindful of hygiene than i used to be. I suspect hand washing has more of an effect on virus spread than it is given credit for. Touch wood, even though I have tended to disregard some of the rules, I have not been infected. Actually, none of my close friends or family have either. Have any posters from here caught it? I know two that had it. My mum and a chap from our snooker league. Both believed to have caught it whilst in hospital.

Newspapers and TV cause lots of our problems. I read the foxes threads to learn what’s really going on.

Everyone wearing masks in Morrisons on Friday but three guys used the loos whilst I was in there and NONE washed their hands ... disgusting at any time but particularly now. Rog

They could ALL be 'positive asymptomatic carriers' now. No-one will ever know, because the tests don't work. Trying to have a discussion with you is pointless isn't it ... you just make stuff up and the more ludicrous the better it seems. I tried ... I'll go back to scrolling by you. Rog

Get deleting.......... Looks like The Lancet should get ready for "some serious consequences of propagating misinformation", eh? "False-positive COVID-19 results: hidden problems and costs" www.thelancet.com/journals/lanres/article/PIIS2213-2600(20)30453-7/fulltextSo your interpretation of the Lancet report is 'the tests don't work'...

Oh dear!
PCR testing deemed unreliable by Portuguese Court Unreliable to guarantee a correct result - yes.
'the tests don't work' - no.
Next you will be saying none of the vaccines work......
