How the hell do they haul up GOLD as I thought gold being non ferrous would evade magnetic attraction Phil

I tried magnet fishing once but I wasn't attracted to it.

Exactly same problems here! they are a pain in the arse I throw it all back in again so that the next idiots can catch it mindless morons for the most, one posted he had pulled out a machine gun posted it all over face ache and wondered why the bobbies nicked him! so funny as he argued with them over a lump of rust steel, in the end they cuffed him and took him away

Thing is with magnet fishing: I reckon if you took it up 10 years ago there would have been some decent 'finds' to be had. But now that dozens of people have 'magneted' 20 yards each side of every bridge hole and most other spots where something is likely to turn up all you're likely to get is the assorted rusty shite others have dredged out and thrown back. I mean, what is the point?

The first proper neodymium magnet I bought was a 3 inch diameter by 2 inch thick disc with a hole I paid £180 for. It was the type used in food production lines to extract any ferrous debris. Around 2005 that was. I put it in a 76mm brass shell casing. It's called "the beast". I still have that magnet but had to retire it when the idiots turned up.
Annoyingly I stopped selling magnets just before the craze started.
Having said that I would not want to make money out of mindless idiots so not to have concerned.

Dairy cows have magnets in them. Not a lot of people know that. They are called cow magnets and are to help improve milk yields by retaining small ferrous items which may otherwise cause hardware disease. Strange bunch these humans are

A 15mm neo disc magnet 8mm thick will easily lift a steel windlass.
I did sell a few this size, the casing was used whipped cream gas canisters with the round end cut off and a cord fixed to the top end.

If you have any spare feel free to throw them at the boat next time you pass. Hopefully they will stick, despite being made in China.

I tried it once for fun, apart from at the dentist years ago. Balloons were handed out in the room, we all inhaled together, uproar ensued. These days they are to be found in every gutter, on every street corner.

These days they are to be found in every gutter, on every street corner. I emptied the bottles using a small arbour press and a screw. No inhaling took place. Little did I know that in some places you can get already emptied bottles by the dozen for free ! In fact inner east London where my ladies are is a classic example. 6 year old kid says "oh, there are balloons someone must have been having a party" I say "no it's drug abuse love, welcome to the world".

Not sure it will pick up a fart.
