Adverts running on TV at the moment. It's just a little lump etc., go and see your g.p. Only you can't see a g.p. At least you can't where I'm registered, they won't see you. My mum, seriously ill with something, awaiting the results from a colonoscopy (6 weeks WTF!) on the toilet 15 times a day on average, lost a stone in weight. She can speak to a 'locum' none of which she can understand, that it. I don't know where the g.p's are, maybe at home on 'furlough' contemplating how to screw another pay rise out of the NHS, £100K isn't enough apparently.
You couldn't make it up.

I think all of us used to antibiotics and such have a very insulated view of such things though. It wasn't so long ago that the most insignificant wound had the potential to turn into something quite terrible.

And the clock is ticking! Dec 31st ... then what? We do a deal with the devil and start importing 3 legged and 3 winged chickens from our trusted friends from over the pond. Never mind, should result in a decrease in KFC prices - I'll be happy.....

The American Way You've obviously never heard of jugged hare. This sort of thing would be great if you don't have a fridge. Like if you lived on a boat or something. I have to admit I don't understand the objections to chickens washed in bleach.

Chlorinating chickens is a massive no no whereas chlorinating the tap water is just fine.

It's a market protection welfare thing isn't it? Frankly I'm so sick of chicken I've recently stopped eating them altogether.

The 'hands, face, space' campaign seems to be sensible ... personal hygeine and keeping distance seems to make sense. But the virus exists in the world and isn't going away. The aim of interupting social contact to break or reduce the spread I sort of understand ... but what is the ultimate aim, goal or target ... because once social contact is reintroduced, infection will spread yet again ... or is the plan to live in isolation from now on ? Rog TB used to be a big problem too. yeah !! only a minor one now ..... after all only 1.3 million people died of it in 2012 but that's ok 'cos most of them were furriners.
More concerning is the fact that in 2012 about a 170,000 people died from a drug resistant strain

Just listened to a radio discussion between two scientists regarding a 'circuit-breaker lock-down' where both accepted that the best such an action could be hoped to do is dampen down numbers with covid for a brief spell ... until the restrictions end ... then we're back to where we are.
Whilst both agreed this was true, one argued for and one against such restrictions.
Surely emphasising personal responsibility is currently the only sensible response ... with those that wish to and are able to, isolating themselves?

Society in general has become one big politically correct snowflake - waiting to moan, fear, deride or campaign about anything and everything. Take all the pressure on A & E departments BEFORE covid came along with folks waiting (choosing to wait actually and making other peoples waits longer) with sprained wrists or cuts that a bit of sticking plaster or a crepe bandage would have dealt with in their parents days... although it is interesting to read that casualty departments have beenn much quiter since March...
WE are all so well brainwashed now by so called "news" or what we read on the internet, we (as in global societies) appear to have lost the ability to rely on our own common sense, make our own decisions and accept responsibility for our own welfare. This whole wearing of masks kind of makes sense in confined spaces to "protect others" but ONLY and I mean ONLY if EVERYONE is wearing them... I just don't get the "children being excempt" bollocks - everyone KNOWS they are germ infested litter critters at the best of times. And all these folks "Oh I've got asthma" so I can't wear one... well I do too but I am still wearing one because of peer pressure - they don't stop you breathing they just fog up my glasses so I Can't read my shopping list.
I think the reality is, the Gov can't afford to close everything down en mass - in fact, they WANT everything to be open BUT public pressure, media frenzy and the like is forcing them into lip service - trying to APPEAR to be doing something for the good of the masses.
It would take a brave politician to admit this so it aint gonna happen. Instead, many 100s of thousands of people will end up in economic poverty whilst those already in receipt of their pension's who CAN hide away with little effect on their living standards are busy demonizing young people.
Perhaps a simple 2 tier system where those who want to (and more importantly are vulnerable) CAN isolate whilst the rest of the world takes their chances... BIN HS2 and quickly buils some field hospitals to deal with whatever covid does - I meann, the world is having meetings by Zoom now so WHY does anyone need to get down south any faster for a "meeting"?
It's all bollocks.
Meanwhile - I let the fire go out now (Greta will be pleased) and it's bloody cold here so time to get my arse into gear and some heat into this boat as it's currently zero degrees outside here at Westport Lake.

I'm not leaving my home, there's no point anyway. All of my family and friends are dead from the coronavirus, I can't go to work because everybody at work is dead from the coronavirus, all of the pubs, restaurants and shops have closed down because all of the staff are dead from the coronavirus. I wouldn't be able to get very far even if I did because the streets are full of people dead from the coronavirus and there's nobody to take the bodies away and bury them because they are all dead from the coronavirus too.
I think it's just me left now.
