For reasons that will be hopefully clearer in a month; the planned winter refit has been somewhat shortened. Spot the difference:- Three and a half years since she was last out - some reworking of previous very old repairs required; she was tip top last time she went back in; less so when she came out in September π³ - nearly there mind. Iβve got a fair bit to do over the next two weeks but I likes a tight deadline to work to π€ͺ The boot stripe has been shifted up around 2β at the rear tapering sympathetically into the existing line towards the bow. Hopefully anti fouling goes on this weekend and sheβs back in the drink 7/11/2020 ready for a new chapter; more of that in good time π€« She was sheeted up in anticipation of an extended layup on the hard - funny how quickly things can change π

Today's task was to fit the Blake's 3/4 seacock for the toilet flush. Despite being nothing new to me - ramming a 7/8" holesaw through the bottom of a boat always goes against the grain - that's small fry though; I've a new 1 1/2" skin fitting to put into Vanguard for mouse at some point on the future π Friday evening will see me wedged double in the engine hole glassing up the inside of the recently blocked up redundant skin fittings along with refitting and plumbing in the cauliflower. Hopefully we will get a window for the anti foul over this weekend and we should be good to go to shove her back in the following weekend ππ»π¨π’

You are busy busy At least you don't have to worry about the tide coming in It's a minor miracle that we are not on SSA, plenty of water blasting down the river at the moment! I must admit I've less enthusiasm for the mega long stints at work then on to the boat than I once did! Short days and long nights don't help! That said; at least Fridays work is all on one level, up and down like a bloody jack in the box today - I really could have done with an extra pair of hands but had to make do with some wooden props to keep the seacock bolts in place while I ferkled about inside getting the nuts on!

I haven't even started on Shapfell
Two weeks since I got it shifted up to alongside me in Beverley and all I have done is go inside to check and pick up what had fallen off on the drive up and take the throws off the upholstery and take them aboard Sabina and washed them.
Frustrating, but with all the things suddenly going wrong (central heating, immersion heater, leak from deck and bits falling off the Volvo) I don't seem to have had time to turn around
Plus fitting an AIS unit to a tug and have a second one to do probably this weekend. (appalling boat spaghetti). I am still waiting for a dry day when the boatyard truck is not in use to go and pick up either thin ply or hardboard to line the saloon floor as the next stage of finishing that job.

How long before the wharf goes underwater again? Fair weather and a free ticket to put her back in on Saturday. All covid secure and under the auspice of voluntary work that cant be done from home. Thank heaven for that! Mad rush last weekend in failry foul weather saw us get to this stage. The blue stripe is a self adhesive vinyl that is supposed to be good for use on the waterline. - I usually paint the stripe in but I just didn't have the time to do it that way. We shall see how this stands the test of time. The rsult is pretty good though! All that is left is a good clean of the rest of the hull and a second coat of Anti Foul on the transom - the weather beat me to that! Cauliflower, Toilet flush Blakes valve and engine cooling raw water system went back together last Friday - so not much left to do at all

It will be really interesting to see how that stick on tape holds out. How long before you next expect to take her out and renew the anti fouling?
