Tealight candles ? I have had the considerable misfortune to have been in one of these horribly nasty places. The only thing I could do to remain sane was to deliberately walk with all the arrows on the floor pointing towards me not away from me. Born to be a rebel. Think those arrows in Ikea stores all those years ago might have been the inspiration for retailers in the lockdown .... I was reprimanded the other week for going the wrong way round the arrows in a tiny charity shop when I was just trying to avoid the three old browsers huddled in one corner. I honestly can't remember being told off so much and so often in the last few months since I was at school. Keep safe and sane. Stay home x

I will lay my cards on the table and say that I have never in my life set foot in an IKEA store. I do have a general idea of what type of retail outlet it is, and I'm curious as to what in its product range could be considered to be "an essential"? I've been in a few, and, although many swear by the great products they flog, I was shocked by the utter crap quality of the items for sale. Not a shop for The Fox.

Snickers the verb, not the ex Marathon bar. Twat (again).

"Meanwhile a winding stream of people queued outside an IKEA in Batley, West Yorkshire, in a bid to stock up on essentials before a month spent indoors." I will lay my cards on the table and say that I have never in my life set foot in an IKEA store. I do have a general idea of what type of retail outlet it is, and I'm curious as to what in its product range could be considered to be "an essential"? Have you ever set foot in Batley, though, to know what the residents deem "essential"? Beds, blinds, Swedish meatballs .....? I have been to Batley, and I would say that items considered essential to the locals would be things like chip barms, flat caps, whippets and pigeons, none of which are sold at IKEA.

I have always rather wanted to put stickers on the products in an IKEA store. The CRÅPP sofa The RÖBBISHE wardrobe system The SHYTE chair The BÄD bed. The BINNE cutlery The options are endless I feel

I remember as a teenager we had an early IKEA dining table. It was reasonably good quality and proper wood.
I suspect IKEA was originally set up in good faith to provide quality furniture but over time they were blinded by the blinding profits available by just rebranding chipboard junk made in china.
There is definitely a lot of money to be made there you just have to look at Dyson.

Seeing as we all have to wear a mask indoors anyway , I'm rather confused by the ridiculous one way systems in small shops. Ah well ... national lockdown it is ... we all have to stay indoors ... but you can go to school, college, work, chemists, doctors, shops, walks, runs, exercise ... but apart from that we're in lockdown. Doesn't leave much locking down really Rog

Channel 4 News pointed out tonight that the health experts said it wont just be 4 weeks. Prepare to be locked down until dogless wants to finish work and go back to his boat. He will have a word to make sure it ends then

Channell 4 News pointed out tonight that the health experts said it wont just be 4 weeks. Prepare to be locked down until dogless wants to finish work and go back to his boat. He will have a word to make sure it ends then It's a virus like all the other viruses (7 species of coronavirus alone) ... it's out there in the world ... we have to hideaway FOREVER or there's no purpose ... we're just delaying the inevitable surely ? One of the SAGE scientists described lockdown as 'kicking the can down the street' ... doing nothing but playing for time. Rog
