The latest scare story is to mention 'Long Covid' - once it gets into you, you will mutate into all kinds of things. Perhaps ... in five years' time? Anyway, to change the subject (well, sort of) can you lot in the UK get this, or is it restricted to Finland? I didn't realise it's been publicised on Areena, which is, I suppose, something like the BBC iPlayer - TV programmes once aired get shoved into the closet for those who want to catch up later. The new Spitting Image. Looks interesting: areena.yle.fi/1-50649541

Quite funny listening to people phoning in to LBC.
This bloke was like "why not give everyone proper respirators and mandate wearing them then nobody can transmit any virus"
I was like 'oh my god yeah yeah yeah but imagine the cost !'
Then another one was like "Why don't we just find out who has the virus and isolate them then nobody else can get it".
I was like 'oh my god yeah yeah yeah but not enough test kits'.
At this point I'm like "why do I think this is a conspiracy when it could just as easily be a fuckup?'

Then another one was like "Why don't we just find out who has the virus and isolate them then nobody else can get it". The "find out who has the virus" is the biggest problem with Covid ........ you apparently are very contagious well before you actually have any symptoms.
This means that you have probably have infected loads of people before you even think of going for a test.
SARS (another corona virus) was the opposite, your symptoms arrived early, before you were at your most contagious ....... hence controlling it by contact tracing was effective

Yeah yeah yeah and I'm like "oh my god not another viral video" I thought we were trying to lose the whole viral thing. How about a viral joke, then? "The tiers of a clown, no less. Maybe there could be a campaign to get it to be the Xmas number one?"

Tealight candles ? I have had the considerable misfortune to have been in one of these horribly nasty places. The only thing I could do to remain sane was to deliberately walk with all the arrows on the floor pointing towards me not away from me. Born to be a rebel. Think those arrows in Ikea stores all those years ago might have been the inspiration for retailers in the lockdown .... I was reprimanded the other week for going the wrong way round the arrows in a tiny charity shop when I was just trying to avoid the three old browsers huddled in one corner. I honestly can't remember being told off so much and so often in the last few months since I was at school. Keep safe and sane. Stay home x That happened to me,I explained slowly using simple words that I only wanted to look at the bookshelves at the very front of the shop.If I'd followed the arrows,I'd have been going past &/or waiting for 3 gossiping farts to move-one who 'worked'in the shop.By turning left at the entrance without moving forward,I was in front of the bookshelves !

Yes - there really seems to have been a serious sense of humour bypass since we've "masked up" (understandable so we should be grateful they're open). I have a few books you may like but, having seen the influx of boats heading your way, have sadly decided against the lovely "Shropshire Lakes" for a while. I'll keep them for you until this all passes. Good luck in your new home, hope to see you there before too long x

Naughtyfox said: "I would like to share a secret with Thunderboat members. I too have had 'it'. I sneezed several times last April. I carried on working, and sent several WhatsApp messages, as there were important things going on, I didn't want to worry anyone, and I was determined to fulfil my engagements. Make me KING!!!!!" ... a source revealed today.
"The Duke of Cambridge, 38, didn't reveal he was sick because he didn't want to alarm the public. William caught the virus in the darkest days of the coronavirus in April after the Prince of Wales and Prime Minister Boris Johnson fell ill. The Duke was treated by palace physicians and quarantined at the family home of Anmer Hall in Norfolk. 'There were important things going on and I didn't want to worry anyone,' the Duke said. That month, William continued working and made 14 telephone and video calls despite sources revealing he was rocked by the disease. A source said: 'William was hit pretty hard by the virus - it really knocked him for six. At one stage he was struggling to breathe, so obviously everyone around him was pretty panicked. After seeing medics and testing positive - which was obviously quite a shock given how fit and healthy he is - William was determined it should be business as usual though. He was determined to fulfil his engagements.'
