Amazing how many months, MONTHS!!! it took for these brainy scientists to agree it was worth wearing masks. This was hotly disputed for all that time by BRAINY SCINTISTS, many were arguing that it was pointless and even dangerous to the wearer. Now it's undisputed and not wearing one is heavily fined. What were we waiting for? Was it so some Tory connected arseholes could position themselves in the mask supply line to cream off a fat profit? Let's not forget the unsuitable types given the PPE contracts early on. Just sayin. Actually the original plan was to stop Joe public buying up all the masks. Of course you knew this, because it was widely promoted at the time. However, the fact you are now attempting to talk shit about it on a forum is noted, and subsequently bungled into the coal scuttle.

Let's not forget the unsuitable types given the PPE contracts early on. Just sayin. Actually the original plan was to stop Joe public buying up all the masks. This is very true and was a sensible move. That is one of the reasons we were asked to wear face coverings. Surgical face masks have been worn for many years by medical staff. They are almost certainly less likely to cause as many side effects as wearing home made face coverings being much thinner and designed for the job. They are also disposable (which is not great for the environment) but less likely to trap bacteria and viruses for long periods. Actually, I'm seeing more of the public choosing surgical masks over face coverings now they are more available. Maybe a good thing, even though walking into Tescos reminds me of going to the dentist.

Strange, it's one of those "these comments have been moderated in advance" items and every single comment is hugely supportive of the enormous fines being handed out whereas an identical article permitting unmoderated comments would consist overwhelmingly of comments pointing out the tyranny and state control in action here. Presumably such comments are still being submitted but are not approved by zee moderatorz. shades of CWDF

Stop pretending to be thick. Or maybe you aren't. I put the sealed bag in my pocket or the covid drawer, let the alcohol do its work, take mask out, wear it when I need it. Do I have to explain everything? I suspect sitting on a chair all day twiddling a wheel addles pates.

You do realise that one piece of research after the next has all come to the same conclusion, that face masks are wholly ineffective against the spread of coronavirus? swprs.org/face-masks-evidence/You do realise that that web link is exactly the sort of fake news spreading stuff that is causing people to die unnecessarily? So when it says "Swiss Policy Research (SPR), founded in 2016, is an independent, nonpartisan and nonprofit research group investigating geopolitical propaganda in Swiss and international media. SPR is composed of independent academics and receives no external funding", where do you see the incentive to spread "fake news"?

'Swiss Policy Research (SPR) (before mid-May 2020, Swiss Propaganda Research)[1][2] is a website launched in 2016, which describes itself as "an independent, nonpartisan, and nonprofit research group investigating geopolitical propaganda in Swiss and international media". While the editors of the site are unknown, they claim that "SPR is composed of independent academics and receives no external funding".[3] The site has been criticised for spreading conspiracy theories, especially relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Christoph Neuberger, a professor at the Free University of Berlin, SPR is a source of pseudoscientific misinformation.[2] The site has been categorized as a tool of propaganda.[4] Due to the persistent use of the German letter ß, which is not commonly used in Switzerland, it has been suspected that the creator is actually not from Switzerland, contrary to what the title suggests.['

I could claim it was independent. I could claim it was nonpartisan and it would certainly be nonprofit. It is a research group - all research is carried out using Facebook closed nut job groups, by degree-qualified me. I could have it hosted in Switzerland. I am an academic, and independent, and it certainly would receive no funding. So all that is meaningless bullshit designed to sound posh and take in idiots. As I said, you are very gullible. Oh and the incentive is of course that nutters get a kick out of spreading dangerously fake news. It gives them a sense of self importance and power and goes a small way to making up for their insecurities due to them having tiny genitalia.

Pfizer fined $2.3 billion for illegal marketing in off-label drug case. You really trust Pfizer?
abcnews.go.com/Business/pfizer-fined-23-billion-illegal-marketing-off-label/story?id=8477617
The world's biggest research-based pharmaceutical company announced on Thursday that it had made payments of $175,000 (£108,000) to each family. More such compensation settlements are expected to follow.
Pfizer was sued after 11 children died in a clinical trial when the northern state of Kano was hit by Africa's worst ever meningitis epidemic in 1996. A hundred children were given an experimental oral antibiotic called Trovan, while a further hundred received ceftriaxone, the "gold-standard" treatment of modern medicine.
Five children died on Trovan and six on ceftriaxone. But later it was claimed that Pfizer did not have proper consent from parents to use an experimental drug on their children and questions were raised over the documentation of the trial.
