I'm not condoning bullying in the work place of any kind ... however, as a generation X'er, FIRM managers/bosses were the norm when I set out - namby pampyism just doesn't always get the job done/changes made. I suspect it's more a case of sour grapes "within" and as has been suggested, posh knobs not liking being told what to do or how to do it a) by a woman and b) a coloured one to boot. Racism remains every where... I'm guilty of it sometimes but try my best to balance things out - by being rude/derogatory about gingers tends to cover that base. Any bloke who can't take a bollocking from / control by a woman needs to grow a pair and get on with the job rather than sniveling to "personnel". Err, you do know you aren't supposed to say "coloured", don't you?

Nobody is to stone anyone until I blow this whistle, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say "coloured".

I only used the term "coloured" as I can't remember what specific 'flavor' her ancestry created...because it doesn't matter to me whether she's sky blue pink with purple dots - it's cause she looks "different" to the old boys club they are sniveling into their brandy about it...

"Coloured" is what ginger people's hair is and is therefore an extremely offensive and pejorative term to describe a person's skin.

I’ve never worked out why “coloured” is bad and “people of colour” is good. Seems a bit fatuous and frivolous to me! Although I suppose it could be said that black isn’t a colour. Well that’s what my art teacher said, anyway. Black and white tv vs colour tv etc etc. I think we should just stick with black, white, and brown for anyone who’s skin isn’t either.

When I was a kid, in the part of the UK I grew up in at least, "black" was offensive and unacceptable and "coloured" was the polite term to describe a negro.

Only very recently discovered coloured was not allowed. What is the correct expression for 'yellow' nowadays? (is Oriental acceptable?)

How about you, you angelic troll?
There's little to pinch from a bus garage. Apart from a bus - and our garage at home is too small for one of those what a defeatist attitude - use your imagination and get pilfering, why don't you.
