Hello, Im new here, been lurking for a while and finally decided to join. About 20 years ago I spent a lot of time on NB Hardy, it was owned by a couple I lost touch with when they left the Nottingham area. Hardy was a wooden ex Barlow coal boat with a Lister JP2, a lovely piece of history being lived on, and used on the Trent. Does anyone here know if it still exists, and where it is? Just curious as to whether it eventually fell to bits or if it is still in use. Thanks.

That sounds like it. I remember the owner mentioning Nurser as the builder. It was dry docked at Trevithics? In Nottingham in 1996 and I helped to replace a couple of planks. The steaming and bending was fascinating, the plank must have been about 10"x3" and 30 feet long, was like very hot rubber! They left the Nottingham area about 1997 and I last seen Hardy In Cropredy late 98. Did you find that on some kind of boat register?

Hi Hardy was up at Wolfhampcote just outside Braunston last time I looked and the owner was very keen to pass it on to someone new.
The JP has gone after it suffered a cracked block after a cold winter.
I gave the owner Usk's AS3 after Usk was broken up by BW but I don't think it was fitted.
