The flaw in your theory is that Boris will have sunk all the French trawlers by then, Hopefully and the Spanish ones, and the German ones, oh and the Belgian, Danish and Dutch ones .... that should do for now. .... Then we might be able to rebuild a British Fishing fleet (slowly) so as to allow the stocks to begin to recover and also introduce large "No Fishing" reserves to protect the bottom conditions in breeding areas and the ability to enforce it.What about the Russians? They've been at it in our waters recently with exceedingly large factory trawlers.

No. they can be a bunch of greedy, careless buggers who would rape the seas just as much as any others .... However they are our greedy buggers and we (as a single nation) would be able to keep them under control. With all the countries and all the vested interests and all the corrupt politicians, as it is at the moment ...... forget it. By the time they got round to deciding there was a problem and then managed to "negotiate" a half assed solution there wouldn't be any fish left and even then policing it would be a joke. ........ Nobody seems to have learned from Canada.

Not going to get into an argument on this. It depresses me how divided and argumentative we are all becoming. I blame Boris for this. I think it’s what he wants, people falling out, that takes the spotlight from his inept leadership.

There's only one solution - ban commercial fishing for at least a generation. And send the trawlers out to pick up the mess (hey nonny nonny).

It would be interesting to be a fly on his (Johnson) collar outside of his public work.
I'm not talking about his ugly woman I mean his other business dealings.
I can't believe the country could have such an entirely pointless leader without something big going down in the background.
He's got to be good scapegoat material.

Agree totally but almost impossible to push through unless the fish population totally collapses, I was just suggesting a possible slightly less than nuclear solution.
To be honest it's the start of deep ocean commercial fishing that I find the most terrifying.

Apropos of not much, the supermarkets sell fish that is caught in the north sea, shipped to China where it it is processed and packaged, then shipped back here. Its all about money.
